A question for the BBV knowledgable

Let me start by saying I see the absolute biggest problem for us as being the media and not BBV. For me, BBV is number 2. My reasoning, in a nut shell, is that if we had an honest media, the BBV issue would have been on everyone's radar and we could well have been on our way to a solution by now.

Why are no significant Dem perosnages talking about this? Why are no Dem elected officials (who all, obviously, need to get VOTED INTO THEIR JOBS) talking about the one thing that can take even a safe incumbent and throw him overboard?

Is no one bothered by it? Are they talking about it and not being covered, which could well be and which backs up my contention that the media is the bigger issue?

Anyway, here's my question.

Either this is an issue or its not. What's the deal?

3. Biggest question out there re BBV...and I vacillate daily on my answer...

on the one hand, I know that, up to 2002, touchscreen voting was seen as a rich-precinct vs. poor-precinct problem with poor precincts getting punch cards and the rich getting touchscreens. HAVA was fought for by John Conyers initially for this very reason. Same with many in the "liberal establishment".

On the other hand, so much excellent research has been done exposing the issue that you would think our "leaders" would have got the message by now.

To me, we are nowhere if our votes don't count. The integrity of our elections is #1 to me. With honest elections, we can have the power to break up corporate control of the media.

But is surely a chicken vs. egg issue!

why are no elected Dems talking about this? I find it amazing that no one mentions it. Having to get reelected, one MIGHT think it is of interest to them, no?

The only one was Conyers, and even he's on to other topics.

This just amazes me.

So, I think it comes down to: vote the fuckers out and replace them with people like Conyers who will stand up and say what needs to be said, and do what needs to be done.

Of course, we'd need reliable elections to do it.
