Pelosi and Reid need to have a statement after that little hissy fit
today on Sensenbrenner's part. ASAP and followed by a statement from Dean to show that Dems won't take this kind of treatment and neither should the American people.

2. It would be fantastic to see a press hearing on the steps
of the Capitol with ALL (yes, ALL) Democrats showing their support. They can even drag in Nelson (NE) and Salazar (CO).

4. Perhaps, we the people, need to demand it of them.
I'm so pissed right now. Every single one of those Dems need to walk out of whatever they are doing and assemble on the Capitol steps, then proceed to talk to whichever camera wants to get the jump on recording history.

13. I've got the TV off right now
...can't stand to watch it much anymore as far as the news-snooze goes. But I sure hope they do go out and (calmly) expose this lack of disrespect and Majority Tyranny.

I also hope that they start objecting on the floor each and every time a Republican asks, "are there any objections" for them to have more or anything.

Handcuffs?

8. Cattle prods.
Honestly, those boys do nothing once they get to Congress except raise money for their next campaign. That used to be a little different for Senators, since they had 6 year terms and could devote half of that term to business and half to fundraising, but no more. Campaigns have just gotten too expensive.

9. LOL! Maybe offer them a free lunch
or something.

Better yet, tell them it's dues for their recent votes. Just be sure someone stands behind them holding two forked fingers up behind their little noggins.

18. Reward them with a free lunch?
I think not. Dues is more like it, but not really a sufficient price.

3. that's what I am thinking too! Where are they and why hasn't the
MSM picked up on any of it yet (as far as I have seen). It was great. Too bad that all comment after Sensenbrenner left and gaveled the meeting closed will not be in the public record.

14. There was a joint Reid-Pelosi news conference yesterday
and one of the Pox News guys blew a total fit, yelling out questions, being completely out of order and trying to disrupt the meetings. He was challenged by another reporter there since he hadn't brought his press badge, and it was supposed he was either a GOP operative, a GOP congressional staffer, or some White House staffer. He blew an even bigger fit.

Since Reid and Pelosi were both on those damned isolation mikes, there isn't a great audio file out there, but the description of the whole white trash meltdown is at http://americablog.blogspot.com/2005/06/why-is-howard-dean-fox-news-so-angry.html

i know Reid and Pelosi (and Dean) are busy but they should really put a staffer on DU to monitor the latest political activity ...

there's thousands of us and we cover current events better than they possibly could by themselves ...

15. What they need is not a statement
it's action. Both of them are long on hollow statements and short on guts.

While I confess to not liking Harry Reid on a personal level- on a professonal level I think the clearly shows that he doesn't have requisite competence for the job he's in. He has power and is afraid (or to use it. Pelosi doesn't have kind of power, so I'll reserve judgment in her case.

Reid is all bark and no bite. Worse- he has a tendency to get people moving in a direction and possibly supporting a position- and then basically abandons them. I've known a lot of people like him in my life.

I don't know what the Dems can do at this point. They've bought into the Republican paradigm- which is why they chose Reid to "lead" them. Until they recognize the situation and reframe the issues, there won't be anything positive coming out of Washington.
