You Are Not Safe

Evil terrorists are plotting against our nation as I type this.

They want to bring us to our knees for their insane ideological cause.

They hate us for our freedoms.

They will stop at nothing to attack this country and everything it stands for.

I am, of course, referring to the Bush administration. Bush's ratings are in the toilet again. People are starting to stir, slowly waking up again. The Patriot Act is coming to some sunset provisions and the Republicans want to not only keep those provisions going, but they also want to expand the Patriot Act powers.

In this political climate, with Bush's sinking approval ratings and a populace that does not believe it is facing impending danger, some aspects of the Patriot Act will be a tough sell. Recently, Bush has gone around stumping for the Patriot Act, which will only hasten its demise (see Social Security, Privitization of).

All of which will more than likely brew into a perfect storm. One panacea which can cure many of the problems this administration is up against: another catastrophic terrorist attack on our soil. Junior's approval ratings will skyrocket again despite his utter failure to prevent an attack, and everyone will line up behind the Patriot Act. Democrats will fail to learn from their mistakes and will once again try to out-Republican the Republicans in an attempt to look Tough on Terror™, all the while damaging the country on a much deeper level than any terrorist bomb or bullet or hijacking ever could.

This Republican administration is willing to sacrifice YOUR LIFE to keep their stranglehold on power. The Republicans in Congress are willing to sacrifice YOUR LIBERTY in an effort to exert more power and control over your fellow citizens. The Democrats in Congress are willing to LET THEM to avoid being called "anti-American".

It's coming.

1. I need someone to protect me from government

They claim their job is to protect me, but who can protect me from them. The "terrorists" can not rob me with taxes. The "terrorists" have not killed 100,000 people or destroyed a civilization. They haven't used any depleted uranium to pollute for two and a half billion years, much less something measured with tons using the word thousand.

We have oppression and tyranny from government and institutionalized robbery. Who is going to protect me from them?

People should have known something was bad wrong when you cannot smoke a joint in peace and we had a media that blocked the half that know it is wrong from saying so on the "public" airwaves the government controls.

Of course the people would fall for it, they always do.

This may be why the Democrats in DC cave in so much.
They KNOW that if they fought back like a real opposition party,
the regime would just MIHOP us again, just like the last time.

Probably they will go after something more "middle America" than huge skyscrapers or military headquarters.

Remember when they were talking about malls and amusement parks and shit? That's where my money is. Maybe they'll go after that Frenchie Statue of Liberty while they're at it.

But I think the impact will be larger nationwide if they go after, say, a Six Flags St. Louis or something.

And you still get the "evil terrists killin' kids" thing, but it's in the HEARTLAND.

Nobody cares about those durned California liberals. Although I'm sure an attack in California would help Ahnold, so it's hard to say.

They already have.

If the administration didn't want to kill 1800 predominantly Republican voters, we wouldn't be in Iraq.

Even 9/11... think about it. Sure, they got NYC and DC, large and super liberal, both of those cities... but what in NYC and DC? Not to stereotype, but you've got a skyscraper complex filled with corporate finance/trade white-collar types (usually thought of as a Republican demographic) and the headquarters of the military, etc. (typically thought of as a Republican demographic).

As long as it furthers their interests in money and power, they don't care one iota about Joe Redneck.
