rule 11 session to discuss the continuance of the Patriot Act.. and deny statements under oath, turn off microphones in mid sentence of Congressmen.. and demand the court reporters to stop taking down the statements being made..... with a motion/a second/a vote...

was the government of the United States overthrown today..??

the rule 11 session was called because the minority was denied any voice in the regular session on the subject of the Patriot Act becoming permanent law.. justifying the Rule 11 session.

I'd like for something to happen, but the dems, as well as being feckless, are also powerless

the only recourse seems to be the media, but I'm betting this won't get any coverage at all tonight, and by Monday, like the DSM, it'll be "old news," and unworthy of any coverage

unless, of course, the dems raise holy hell over this giant step toward dictatorship

10. Nope, if anything we showed our mettle.
We carried on despite of the antics. O\T, but I really want to say this. I believe in God, and I don't believe for a second that he will let "evil" prevail. Doing wrong is one thing, doing wrong while claiming to be doing "God's will" is another. These people stand for exactly the opposite of the teachings of Jesus. I have faith that God will not let this continue in his name. Their end is nye. Look at the war in Iraq, it really is the David and Goliath story of our time.

a very insecure individual who got his feathers ruffled because he had to come chair a meeting that he didn't call. It pissed him off because his AUTHORITY was questioned. When are Repugs going to grow up and act like adults? If he had given Dems the right to ask questions in the first place, he wouldn't have had this crap on his hands, and now in his mouth.

BTW, this is post #100 for me. Do I get promoted to PFC or something in DU?

26. WILL YOU ALL CALM DOWN FOR A MOMENT??
Conyers is a fighter, he had nothing to say. Why? Because he's planning his next move. The Repugnazis just fucked themselves up the ass with that move. Notice that the downing street memo has become a big item even though the Bushies and the traitor mainstream media have avoided it?

Relax, keep pressing.

That this happened is proof that they are weak and scared of getting completely torn down. They can't destroy the law, all they can do is be forced to make bigger and bigger temper tantrums until they break.

Also remember that Republicans are splitting from the ranks of the neo con traitors, the more shit like this happens the more of them will move and the more little punks like Biden will find themselves crawling back to the line of righteousness... or be simply forced to switch to the Repug part and be done with it.

We are in the process of winning, relax and keep pressing the attack.

the rats start jumping ship. The 7 moderates are the first to mutiny, and the rest are ready to follow.

This american fascism cannot be supported. Our values won't allow it. The money and soldiers are running out, and the msm is starting to report the news of it again.

They're losing control, and they know it.

Stay focused on the goal, don't let their last minute desperation moves distract you.

We can unseat them, they're weak in the polls and have nothing to discuss. I mean really, "let's attack Hillary! Let's attack Dean!"

Um... you're the majority party, why don't you do something?

"Uh.... uh.... CLINTON!"

They're flailing in a sea full of sharks with gashes and missing limbs, just look at Delay, he's ten seconds away from being in a world of hurt and he's one of their top guys. Keep moving and they're finished.

30. The short answer is "no"
It's an abuse of power.... but it IS a power that they have. I'd have to see a trascript, but a motion to adjourn is always in order and they've got the votes.

The good news is that this is the kind of thing they ran on in '94. Such abuses were too common... and it cost us. Now perhaps, it can come full circle.

37. Bravo Commandante Sensenbrenne!
My hearty congratulations on silencing this pesky political concept called Democracy. Who knows better than you what Americans need to hear? I am sure that your Party will put the Patriot Act to good use, ferreting out all those Democrats who would tell the truth about what Bush Republicanism is doing to this country. As Presindente-for-Life Bush has reminded us on many occaisions, "my life would be easier if I were dictator". You are certainly doing your part in making this happen. You are an outstanding and loyal Party member who should be rewarded by those that demand a One Party State. Keeping our Patriot Act intact will assure that the spoils of this country can be controlled by the few who deserve these riches.

Let's get the Patriot Act III implemented as soon as possible…..you can make it a crime for anyone to be a member of the Democratic Party! We should start an aggressive program to get more prisons built now and strike while the iron's hot. We have done away with the charade of a free and fair election system, but there is still much work to do to assure a compliant population who will not ask questions of your directives. Perhaps a mandatory stint in Iraq for all Democratic Party members will allow our glorious war for oil to continue while reducing the number of those traitors who would work to impeach our Glorious Leader.

Again, thank you for finally showing your contempt for this failed 200 year experiment of democracy. I look forward to more overt actions to transform America into the United Banana Republican States of Bushistan.

Sincerely,

Old and In the Way

PS I assume you know that I am one of those subversive Democrats who will work to impeach you and the rest of the criminals who are destroying this country.

42. Something worries me about his parting remarks....
He requested a list of the librarians that reported being asked info about library patrons.
From what I remember, according to the Patriot Act, the librarians
are not supposed to even acknowledge that they have been asked for information.

Are these librarians now in danger of jail time because of Sensebrenner?
