Neverland is across the road from an elementary school??
I never knew that! Under the circumstances, that's a bit creepy. :-(

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If Jacko loses, it's NEVERland
LOS OLIVOS, Calif. - If Michael Jackson is convicted of child molesting, he could be barred from his beloved Neverland estate even after getting out of jail.
An elementary school is right across the road - and California law bars paroled child sex offenders from living within a quarter-mile of any public or private school.
1. Under what circumstances?
That he's been accused of child molestation? Accusation doesn't equal guilt.
3. A man who is accused of child molestation for the second time ...
happens to live across the street from an elementary school and you don't find that to be just a little bit creepy? Especially when you consider the fact that this man has openly admitted to sharing a bed with young boys? Guilty or not, I still think it's creepy ... sorry. :-)
22. Something else I don't get
is why would parents let their kids go over there if he's a suspect? If I had kids I wouldn't let them go over there until we knew for sure he wasn't anything like that.
12. "Innocent until proven guilty" is only in a court of law. In reality,
he's either innocent or guilty already. And the poster is right, he has no business living across the street from a school.
2. It doesn't matter if he goes to jail Neverland is gone
He is already deep in shit financially and if he is in jail there is no way he will be able to dig himself out.
4. Yeah, I heard that on the news yesterday ...
He has a ridiculous amount of debt! He owns the entire catalog of Beatles songs and they said he's probably going to have to sell it.
5. I have already heard the Paul McCartney is waiting in the wings
to pick it up. His note which is secured by the Beatles Catalog and his own was originally held by MBNA but they have sold it to another company. Right now his loan is in default but the haven't decided to take it yet. Probably they are waiting to see if he goes to jail.
10. Yoko Ono did not sell these songs to Jackson.
Back in 1963, the Beatles gave their publishing rights to Northern Songs, a company created by their manager, Brian Epstein, and a music publisher, Dick James. Northern Songs went public in 1965, and John Lennon and Paul McCartney each had 15% of the company's shares, while Dick James and the company's chairman, Charles Silver, held a controlling 37.5% of shares. In 1969, James and Silver sold Northern Songs and its assets to the Associated Television Corporation (ATV).
In 1985, ATV's music catalog was sold, and Michael Jackson was the high bidder. Jacko paid a reported $47 million for the publishing rights to somewhere between 159 to 260 Beatles songs. A decade later, Jackson and Sony merged their music publishing businesses. Since 1995, Jackson and Sony/ATV Music Publishing have jointly owned most of the Beatles songs.
7. Mission Accomplished
Thats what they wanted// Black folks "don't belong" around there.If there is anything here there is reasonable doubt, considering the accusers.That doesn't mean a thing to most jurors who convict Black men routinely. what's creepy is the prosecutor.
15. I have a problem with Sen Kerry
It should be President Kerry. Never been to Santa Barbara county, is there somthing I should know that I'm missing? I just have a problem understanding a 43 yr old man be he black, white or any other color sharing his bed with a child.
16. They should come up with better "victims"
Sorry I just can't buy these grifters line. He may well be as guilty as sin- there is however, eminently reasonable doubt. I smell a rat in this prosecution. a bit of vendetta too.
I do too, but that's not enough to convict someone for 20 years.
St Barbara is one of the richest, whitest, places in the state
19. Thanks for explaining
I understand where your comming from now. All I know about the trial is what I see on the MSM and here at DU. I agree the accusers are questionable and seem to be money grabbers. I hope the jury makes the right decision whatever it is.
20. If Jackson is guilty and is
convicted, the parents of the kid should be charged with pimping the boy out.
