Episode #403 Duration: 26:46 CC Stereo DVS TVRE
* The Return of California Connected's Fab Four - Our second annual meeting with former California Governors Brown, Deukmejian, Wilson and Davis led to a lot of laughter, good-natured jousting and quite a few ideas about how to make California work better. Topics included immigration, tax reform, education, the power of unions and transportation.
* Grading California's Government - California was recently tested for "effective government management." The results? We tied for last place - with Alabama. Here's how the Government Performance Project, a non-partisan group which grades how well state governments manage "money", "people", "infrastructure" and "information", begin their scathing review of the Golden State: "People who work in California government love to talk about how their state dwarfs entire countries in both population and economy. Well, everybody needs something to be proud of." Catch this week's episode for a look at what we get wrong and what effective management looks like in high-scoring states like Utah, Georgia, Louisiana and Delaware.
