2. Wrote to the DNC today
Maybe they'll pay attention...

Sirs:

Today, Representative James Sensenbrenner, chairman of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, used bullying tactics in not allowing the witnesses from groups, including Amnesty International USA, to speak, and acted with impunity in disrupting and overtaking a very important meeting.

It is my opinion that the Democrats present should have walked out rather than allowing Sensenbrenner to continue with his total disregard for the committee meeting procedures.

Rep. Mike Pence , R-Ind., accused Amnesty International of endangering the lives of Americans in uniform by referring to the prison at Guantanamo Bay as a "gulag." Any genocide is frequently referred to as a "holocaust", and calling Camp X-Ray a "gulag" is no different. This parsing of words has reached the limit of absurdity.

What transpired today is frightening in the abuse of power displayed, and it angers me that our nation is being forced to swallow all the GOP wishes and wants, with no discussion or true representation.

An apology from Sensenbrenner should be forthcoming, but he should also be removed from having any further participation in the judiciary committee proceedings.

I truly believe that all of the Democrats present should not return to these proceedings until it is guaranteed that the witnesses will be allowed to speak, and all present will come to a decision by acting fairly and in a bipartisan manner.

In the eyes of the world, and to my sensibilities as well, the unilateral action taken today brands the United States as a nation being led into fascism by a one-party state.

5. Outstanding letter
I've tried several times to write about it, but I get too overwhelmed everytime I try to put my feelings into words. Your words are perfect. Thanks.

Hopefully, the folks at DNC actually pay attention and pass on the messages. That's what I hope when I write to them.
