Elsewhere in Baghdad, a bomber wearing the uniform of Iraq's high-profile Wolf Brigade police force killed five officers and wounded seven others at the commando unit's headquarters, Aljazeera reported.

Body parts littered the barracks area close to the Interior Ministry and police academy which houses the Wolf Brigade, a military-style force of several hundreds, mainly drawn from the capital's Shia poor.

Bomber hits Iraqi police academy

A suicide bomber wearing the uniform of Iraq's high-profile Wolf Brigade police force has killed eight officers and wounded many others at the commando unit's Baghdad headquarters.

Police officials have put the total number of dead and injured at close to 20.

The bomber, who officers say was also carrying police identity documents, entered the barracks with other members of the unit reporting for work in the morning.

you can't recruit from the people without getting infiltrated by a freedom fighter or two. The immensely sad thing about all this is that since the invasion, many Iraqis have had to find any job they could in order to feed themselves and their families, including work in collaborationist police units. Every single one of these deaths in blood on our hands, make no mistake about it.
