2. This Dude Is As Slimy As They Get
A Wisconsin friend calls him "Congressrat Phillip Morris" for his large support of big tobacco since Miller is in his district and they pump a lot of money in his pockets.

He's also a big panderer to the anti-immigration crowd...trying to be their hero these days. That's where that snide crack about those being critical of his involvement came from. He's doing the corporate's dirty work to maintain cheap labor without any accountability.

But then this sleezeball has been on my radar for years...from his mean-spirited one minute floor speeches (with the other Gingrich rats) in the early 90's to the Clinton inquisition to his ham-handed way of running the Judiciary committee. I never thought I'd miss Henry Hyde.

4. BTW, the "Tex" knickname is probably not what you think
I found this little nugget of info at Americablog:

The Post noted that Sensenbrenner is "the heir to a paper fortune." It's a little more interesting than that. Sensenbrenner's family money comes from Kotex per Legal Times:

His family fortune derived from his great-grandfather, Frank J. Sensenbrenner, who invented the Kotex feminine hygiene product shortly after World War I, then used the money from that venture to become Kimberly Clark's largest single shareholder and eventually its CEO.

Word on the Hill is that if you really want to piss off Sensenbrenner, call him "Tex." So, henceforth on Americablog, he is "Tex."

7. Here is a little something you may like!
Sensenbrenner amasses biggest tab

Snip>

Together with his wife and two aides, Sensenbrenner amassed more than $111,000 in travel bills then, often relying on private groups to pick up the tab, according to a Journal Sentinel review.

The Menomonee Falls lawmaker, who chairs the House Judiciary Committee, had travel bills three times as high than any other federal lawmaker from Wisconsin during that period.

The review of congressional travel came amid intense scrutiny on Capitol Hill involving travel by lawmakers who rely on outside sources to pay their way, often descending on famed, faraway places average Americans only dream of.

The Journal Sentinel's review, done routinely, is mirrored by probes by other news organizations and watchdog groups - scrutiny triggered largely by controversy over trips involving House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas).

10. Ck out Sensenbrenner's opponent
Hey there:

I am running against Sensenbrenner. I ran in 2004 and published a book documenting his stock holdings and corporate PAC contributions. Check it out at www.bk2006.org
