TX soldier killed ONE day before he was to come home
Anytime one dies is sad but to see it happen 24 hours before he was to be sent home... ;(

A Laredo soldier was killed in Iraq on Wednesday, one day before he was scheduled to return home.

The 31-year-old was a border patrol agent before being sent to Iraq.

His mother said Arizola was a loving father and husband who liked to play video games and sports with his 7-year-old son.

Arizola is at least the 152nd Texan to have died since the war began in March of 2003.

1. Tragic
Everyone of the deaths is, but this particularly poignant, given he was so close to leaving that hell hole.

4. 152 Texans have died so far
How many of those 152 have Latino names like Roberto Arizola. Contrast this with CatWoman's post yesterday that mentions that no Texas state legislators are minorities.

5. 152 .. how totally and sadly ironic.
That (152) is also the number of executions in Texas under Gov. George Bu$h.

7. WOW! ... 152 executed as governor; 152 Texas GIs killed in Bushco war
The Bush version of a basketball "double-double."

So damned sad.

6. Remember when they took those soldiers off an airplane
as they were boarding? They were extending their stay and I think the Fallujah assault came shortly. One of them got killed a day or so later also.

What heartbreaking news. Damn Bush and Rummy and Cheney etc to Hell.
