What took him so long?
It's four days after Hurricane Isabel swept through the DC area, and only today is Bush looking over the damage. And I don't think he's actually going out and talking to individual home and business owners who've been devasted by this.

Clinton would have been in Alexandria by noon on Friday, Richmond that evening.

Another example of how small a person Bush really is. Compassionate Conservative my rear end.

1. Callow
He is frightened and weak willed.
That is the only explanation.

2. Good point
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised the next time a natural disaster happens that it takes Bush a month to comment on it, due to not wanting to interrupt yet another vacation.

5. Hey, He Went Straight To Vigrinia!
via Florida, Nebraska, Colorado and Minnesota. Standard AF1 flight pattern in a disaster situation.

14. Sure we would have...
but that's just fun Shrub-bashing.

Part of the job of mayors, governors, and presidents is to visit disaster sites. They're expected to and most do it, if only for the photo-op and feign concern. Some are even actually concerned and do something to help.

Not this asshole, though. He just doesn't give a shit about that part of the job, and undoubtedly doesn't give a shit about anyone who was hurt by the storm, or any other tragedy.

He can't even act the part of President.

10. He has not attended one dead soldier's funeral, has he?
Did the citizens affected by Isabel actually expect Bush to be concerned?

16. He drinks that swill?
Guess that shows how low-brow he is. Real whiskey is Scottish or Irish, not Jack Daniels. Then again, if he tried either of those kinds, it would probably knock him off his barstool on the first shot.
