"You and your liberal friends..."
Have any of you ever been hit with that line of attack when you were arguing with a conservative? It just seems like a frequently used tactic.

6. They think we are monolithic....like a hive mind or something.
They don't seem to understand our diversity at all.

Oh, and we get together once a week to do drugs and have abortions and gay sex and worship satan.

8. Part of the 'dehumanize the opposition' method for warfare.
One can be more callous/cruel/vile to someone they consider less then themselves. They can't call us anything to bad to our faces cuz they are basically cowards. They resort to code words, just like the way they use language in their racist rants. If we are not one of them, we are somehow less human and they don't have to play fair or nice.

9. A couple of quotes that seem appropriate..
"Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience."

"Don't argue with an idiot. People watching may not be able to tell the difference"

I avoid arguing with conservatives... It only gets me really upset and never changes anyone's mind.

I used to try to have political discussions with Conservatives - naively thinking something good might come of it. No More!!!

1) The discussions always turn into an argument. I don't like to argue, but I'm pretty sure conservatives think of it as a sport. They really enjoy it. In fact they seem to get off on it.

2) I realized I will never change a conservative's mind. Never.

3) I almost always end up hating these people.

So what's the point? Now I just skip over the anger and pointlessness and move right to the hatred! ;-)

16. Actually it was, "You and your pointy headed liberal friends"....
...which implied that as liberals we are from a different planet. Michael Savage has really gone on the attack on his talk show and pushing his latest book "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder", published by, National Review Book Service, 2005.

New Review: Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder
The following is a brief excerpt from a review posted on PopandPolitics.com:

I try not to read crap. I really do. I am a very particular and meticulous consumer of books and generally don’t waste time reading nonsense from either the far right or the far left. I’ve dabbled here and there with a Sean Hannity book (and in my youth, Rush Limbaugh’s two books), but generally I try to read books with a higher pedigree of authorship. In the case of Michael Savage’s third and newest book, “Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder,” I am reminded of why I don’t read this sort of tripe anymore.
If you were to walk into any large chain bookstore right now, you would be able to find a bevy of books written by experts on a litany of subjects from the war on terror to illegal immigration. They’ll have their own slant for certain, but in most cases the reader should come away with a better understanding of the subject material they just read about.

The opposite is true with these “pundit manifestoes,” as I like to call them. Folks like Savage and Hannity, or Michael Moore and Al Franken on the other side, write these broad and schizophrenic books with nothing holding them together except that they have an unreasonable hatred for the other side of the political debate. Their collective lack of scholarship and generally terrible ability to compose a thorough narrative make reading their books an exercise in masochism. This newest pile of venom by crotchety old man extraordinaire Michael Savage is no different.

That pretty much sums it up for me, and this is from a progressive conservative.

17. They try hard to marginalize the L-word, usually successfully.
Just tell them that labeling people is a surefire sign that their points aren't good enough on their own.

20. It is something you have to avoid. They label because it boosts
their self-esteem. They are now on the high, moral ground. Throw something back in their face, like Why do you hate the idea of America?
