Editor of Bush climate report resigns
I heard about this on Malloy's show earlier this week on how this guy would change information to fit their message that everything is fine. It really pissed me off. So I'm glad to hear this.

Snip: <Mr. Cooney’s resignation came two days after documents revealed that he had repeatedly edited government climate reports in ways that cast doubt on the link between building greenhouse-gas emissions and rising temperatures.>

2. "Mr. Cooney said he could no longer work in a climate not of his own
making."

Fair-weather functionary. Got what was coming.

8. No, he didn't, but he might as well have said it.
He's one of those who create their own reality regardless of the facts that precede them. It's bad enough that they are on shaky ground, but if the ground shifts, they can take the rest of the country with them. At least with him gone, there's one less of those fanatics in power.

Appropriate choice of words.

13. The words are appropriate, but Cooney didn't say them.
I couldn't resist temptation and put them in quotes. I didn't mean to bait anyone; I intended only irony. It's the only export the US has left to fight the trade deficit.

6. My God!
He was a lobbyist for the petroleum industry before becoming heading environmental studies for the government. That is so wrong on so many levels, but yet so typical of the repukes.

20. I share your outrage
this story typifies the flat out danger of this administration. They're ruthless. They have no regard for truth.
The only people who can still support Bush at this point are those who cannot read. That is the only explanation. Nevermind what a person hears....the airwaves are saturated with lies. Rush and Co. didn't cover this story.
Yet it's the essence of the adminstration. An oil company hack edited and revised the findings of scientists to skew reports in favor of the oil corporations who have this administration enslaved.
And poor Scotty McClellan had to tapdance as Bush hid inside the White House, quavering with fear.
I weep for our country.

21. Yes, it would seem to me that when people are appointed
to different departments you truly want to choose someone who will be a vociferous advocate for whatever department it is plus have a background in said department's area of interest. It all just seems logical, but logic is not part of this admin. * might as well appoint the CEO of Phillip Morris as the new Surgeon General!

16. Get thee to the Greatest Page!
Sad thing is, like the aide who broke into the DNC Senate records, he'll end up as a staffer for another agency, or another Congressman. And there, until caught again, he'll simply lie about the things these criminals have in the works.

His type never never suffer from a work shortage.

>> raaaahhhhight....

"Before moving to the White House in 2001, Mr. Cooney, 45, was a lawyer for the American Petroleum Institute, the main lobby for the oil industry, and held the position of “climate team leader,” in which he fought restrictions on greenhouse gases."
