US troops fire on Iraqis for driving too slowly
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 01:30 AM by wtmusic
"US soldiers shot dead two Iraqis and wounded two others in Baghdad when their car came too close to an American armoured patrol, the military said. Iraqi police Major Musa Abd al-Karim said the victims were Iraqi security guards driving to work in northern Baghdad's Shula neighbourhood at about 6.30am and mistakenly shot by US soldiers.

US military spokesman Lieutenant Jamie Davis said the Iraqis were driving too slowly in front of a lead vehicle in an American convoy. An American soldier in the lead vehicle fired a warning shot to make the Iraqi vehicle move away, but its occupants returned fire on the convoy and sparked a gun battle, Davis said.

"The patrol returned fire, killing two occupants, wounding two more and setting their car on fire," Davis said, adding the American soldiers left the scene without stopping.

Let's see now...two security guards driving to work opened fire on a vastly more powerful American convoy because they didn't want to get out of their way...is that it? But wait--it says they were mistakenly shot. Which one is it?

Or maybe it should read, "Americans get impatient with car in front of them, then blow the shit out of it because they know they can get away with it." That sounds FAR more credible. Now why wasn't this story in the American press? :grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr::grr:

Just more dead brown people folks. Move along. Support The Troops.

1. Holy shit.
This is a sad commentary to say that at least half of America will swallow this whole and without a second thought.

But the Question I need answered is this - Who said "Mistakenly"... was it the army or the reporter?

The army should give him the official version of the story before he talks to reporters.

4. Reminds me of
that one story where soliders shot the parents infront of about three little children. There's a picture floating around of the little girl crying with her parents blood on her body. That is always in my mind.

5. And you know
this stuff happens *all* the time, and is ignored by the American press.

Time to go to bed. I can't get any angrier tonight. :hi:
