Send that fucking punk Matthews an e-mail.
He opens his program with calling Dean,"dizzy Dean" and saying " if you thought that John Kerry was smarter than Bush, think again." It`s time this fucking asshole was stopped.

When ANDREA MITCHELL is the most liberal one there (you know, I'm married to Alan Greenspan Andrea Mitchell), we have a real problem.

10. You know what sticks in my craw about the whole GPA thing?
Corporate Media Coverage so far has stated:

"Kerry college transcripts released. Bush had a higher GPA."

Yeah. SO?

It tells me NOTHING!!!

Such as what was the difficulty level of the classes taken by each.
Personally, I am much more impressed by a 'B' (3.0) in Micro Biology or Calculus III than I am by an 'A' (4.0) in Cheerleading.

Has anyone else noticed this transcript discrepancy?

14. I noticed the discrepancy. It's the first thing I thought of, too.
Unfortunately, comparing classes attended is too "nuanced" for someone of limited cognitive functioning such as Matthews.

17. Exactly. That you very much.
I'm going to step on toes and feelings here, but analyze this:

My hometoen paper always printed the names of the kids from middle school and high school who made the honor list and what GPA they fell under.

I was an AP student. I took college-level classes in high school, took the AP test at the end of the year and passed them all- earning credit for college classes and thereby not having to take (and pay) for them in college.

There are other students who were taking at grade level, or even below grade level classes, who were making the same grades as I was.

We would both get the same GPA. But who had more work? Yes, my "A" was worth 5 unit credits while their's was worth 4, but those reading the newspaper don't know who is who. It looks like we came out the same.

And... since when is grades the only determining factor in intelligence? I guess people like my parents, for whom college wasn't an option, are just dumb, stupid idiots. Quite frankly, I"d trust my Dad to run the free world over * anytime. My Dad had to work for every damn thing he ever got and he believes in the middle and lower class, immigrants rights and the American worker.

But, my Dad is just a dumb on Kentucky farm boy. What the hell would he know?

I also don't recall Kerry or anyone on his team saying "I made better grades than the cheerleader." He never claimed to be smarter- he just showed it time and time again. It was the corporate media who said it--- and said it--- and said it. And now, they're slamming Kerry for their own stupid claims!

I wish the media would return to journalism and DO THEIR JOB instead of waste airtime with such drivel.

15. this is the bottom even for Tweety
His group of idiots spent the first 15 minutes slamming the Democrats, sneering at Hillary's "liberal" voting record (!), doing the Dizzy Dean crap, Tweety calling Al Franken "the left...the far left if you will" (!) and then yukking it up about how Bush is "smarter" than Kerry, complete with a slam at Teresa for daring to insinuate that her husband is smarter than our "president".

All of this cocktail talk completely overlooks the fact that this administration is CRAWLING with corruption, they lied to take us to war, they're handing the treasury over to their corporate friends, but to Tweety & Co that's all water under the bridge. Those mean ol' Democrats are attacking their president! Oh, no!

This is the most shamefully whorish half hour of television I've ever seen - and that says A LOT.

21. That's how I look at it
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 09:59 AM by Dyedinthewoolliberal
however our problem is many folks take this as gospel. They see the talking heads each week on TV and think "this must be true or else it would not be on TV"
While we (most of us at places like DU) know this to be false, there are many more who cannot or will not distinguish the wheat from the chaff.
Edward R. Murrow must be rolling in his grave. The way you're taught in journalism school (which is Tweetys' cover) is to present the facts and let the reader/viewer make up their own minds.
Calling Dean 'dizzy' is a journalistic sin. But then, we all know that. It is up to us to see that those influenced by this crap are NOT influenced by this crap. No one said it would be easy! :)

19. Tweety's Ego...Loves To Hear Himself On Hate Radio
Tune in tomorrow and you'll hear soundbites of this show on Rushbo, Savage, Ingraham and any hate talker on the dial. They love the soundbites and "gotchas" Tweety gives 'em and Tweety loves the free advertising and PR for him and his show.

Tweety is a beltway game player. He's into access and his own popularity. His show is him is his show...and he'll do whatever he thinks he needs to do to juice up ratings and keep his name on the "A List" around the beltway. This has and always is about Tweety. Anyone who takes him or his little food fights seriously miss the game he's always playing. There's no principles involved with this dude, it's all money, access and being "one of the boys".

This loser showed his true colors by not coming forward in the Plame investigation. This asshat knows who leaked Plame's name and has never come forward with that information.

26. The Money Class is shitting their pants
They've been trying this smear campaign on Dean for what, about three weeks? They're scared that the 'great unwashed' might just be waking up and the guillotine is being greased up, just for them.

I can hardly afford it, but I sent 25 bucks to the DNC with a "Dean speaks for me!" not attached, cc'd to every dem that weaseled.

The more emails he gets, the more advertisers say "Hmmm, people watch his show." And guess what? Nobody will read your email. It's best to ignore Matthews.
