Guy is as tough as Bernie Ward or Ray Taliafero (KGO Radio). Guy is FOCUSED. Guy doesn't go up and down like a roller coaster in terms of quality. If he's on the air, Guy comes out of the gates like a tiger. That's your quality guarantee. It's Saturday, Guy's on the air, the show will be KILLER.

Guy is articulate, he's got a deceptively dry sense of humor, and he cares about what's going on in this country.

For anyone reading this and thinking "WTF?"...I encourage you...REALLY encourage you...to go to Ben's "White Rose Society" Web Site and download a few Guy shows (http://www.whiterosesociety.org/James.html). THEN decide what we'll lose if this man no longer has a show in July.

41. Why the hatred for PayPal?

I've used PayPal for several years now both to make payments and receive them from customers. I've never had a problem that wasn't quickly solved. When I receive money from customers it goes into my account balance where I earn about twice what banks offer for checking/money market. I pay smaller fees for credit card transactions than from the banks that used to charge me $25 a month just to be able to process CC transactions - plus a heavy fee for each one.

Yet, I keep hearing these "I hate PayPal" posts - like a post above claiming that they had $50 taken out of their account monthly instead of one-time only - with no explanation of why that happened or how it was resolved. Makes me strongly suspect pilot error.

I've got no stake in PayPal - but I don't see any reason to tear them down. They are a great resource for me. I am semi-retired and get all my small income from products I make myself and sell on-line. I've found PayPal to be a valuable resource - operating my online business would be much more difficult without PayPal.

I have a dear friend who used PayPal as a tip jar for her personal blog, and they cut her off because they said that her site was "too adult oriented".

Still, I have never had a problem with them I could not resolve quickly.

105. Okay, if you can't make a new thread because of server problems,

we need several things:

1. Permission from Skinner to start another fundraiser thread, unless he made it clear that it would be OK when this one fell off the Greatest Page to start again.

2. Someone to step forward to start the thread. I'd rather it NOT be me, but I am willing to help keep it kicked and continue to provide "entertainments" unless you people think it's dumb.

3. Some way to keep track of how much more is needed. If people pay with checks, there will be a long time delay. In the Andy fundrasier, everyone was supposed to PM or email sfexpat2000 with the amount of their donation when they made it. That way, she was able to keep track and we know how far we needed to go. That is VERY IMPORTANT. It seems reasonable to me that either Guy himself should keep track or he should designate someone to do it for him.

4. Info on the new Amazon account as soon as it is available.

I think it would also be good to have more info on why this amount is needed and then take that info to other online sites to help raise the total needed, unless that is already being done. I'd hate to fall short.
