THIS is why we should back our Dean (check out this quote of his - woof!) |

"My view is FOX News is a propaganda outlet for the Republican Party and I don't comment on FOX News," Dean said. That was in response to vice president Dick Cheney calling Howard Dean "over the top" on Fox News on Sunday. SOURCE: http://abclocal.go.com/wls/news/061205_ns_howard_dean.html

Dean could grow long hair, give away all his worldly possessions, wear sandals and preach the gospel.
The right would still demonize him. That's what they do. When the only tool you have is a hammer, the whole world looks like a nail. (Maslow quote)

arrogant enough that he doesn't give a damn what they think about him. And that makes him perfect for the job of DNC chair at this particular point in history. At another time he might not be the best choice, but right now Howard Dean is just exactly what the doctor ordered. I have to say, I think this guy is great! Sic'em, Howard! Sic, boy, sic!

Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 05:44 AM by bklyncowgirl
If anyone whether its a Democrat or not get's in their faces in a big way they're going to be demonized.
The difference seems to be Dean's striking back and he's hurting them. They don't haul out the junkyard dog, Dick Cheney to slam someone unless that person's giving them serious grief.

Just keep on hitting them, and doing exactly what they always fear. The whimpering dog getting pummelled into submission.
But what I detest more than the fascists, is the DINOs in this party and man they have flooded the leadership. These democrats in name only are spineless and do virtually NOTHING to any of this. They wonder why they can't get power back? They don't fight and UPHOLD the constitution!!!! That's what we need, and we need it more than ever by drawing up articles of impeachment.

big picture.. June 10, 2005 "A Master Politician at Work" "Harry Truman famously said, in response to calls that he “Give ‘em Hell,” that “I just tell the truth and they think it’s hell.” It brought him victory in an election Truman had no business winning, in 1948, an election that really kept Democrats dominant for 20 years, despite the rise of suburbia, and made possible both the Warren Court and the Civil Rights movement.
No Democrat on Earth has Howard Dean’s political brilliance. No one else has his instincts. He’s not crazy, he’s not angry, he’s not mad. He’s giving people the truth, and those who hear it are responding.
Those who feed and depend on the current system, both Republican and Democratic – they just think it’s hell. Because when the time is right, and the inevitable contradictions between our assumptions and reality occurs, they’re all going to be thrown out of their Washington paradise.
Who will replace them? Those who hang on tightest to Howard Dean’s coattails will replace them.
You watch and see." Much more at.. http://www.corante.com/mooreslore/archives/037050print.htmlhttp://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1850541

21. It will when they accept |
|
the fact that the base is applauding Dean, and ignoring the pink tu-tus. They can be as cautious as they want, and try to appease all they want, but Dean is capturing the heart of the Democratic Party, and they either accept that, or become obsolete.
Never forget, that if we can get rid of Diebold, we control the votes. Even with Diebold, if enough of the American citizens vote for the Democratic candidates, we can put a stop to the speed of the neocon agenda.
Other, stronger measures, such as legislation, hearings, and impeachments will also play a part. That is only if we stand together, united. United we stand, divided we fall.

probably because I work across the hall from ballet dancers, who occasionally DO wear pink tutus, and they are damned tough - the girls can lift 100 pounds easily, they'll perform with bleeding bound feet, and they work out for hours a day. I don't know if the intent is to imply that the dems are "girly men" or that "ballet is for gays and we don't need sissy gays in the party" but I find all possible interpretations both ignorant, and offensive.

How in the world is that whining? I'm explaining the difference between the two comments. And no, I don't jump on every positive Dean thread and whine. I haven't said anything against Dean until Dean people started trashing good Democrats just because they disagree with some of his remarks. I posted a positive Dean thread yesterday, asking for threads on his DNC meeting remarks. There was one.

Dean is saying some of the things that my friends and I say. We are the working class of America.
