The US is kidnapping women in Mosul.
Just when I thought I could not be more ashamed of this country.

4. The story of the first Abu Graib scandal, the one that did not get
much attention, was that the US was using the women family members of suspected terrorists to humiliate and break down the men they held. They'd show the captive that his wife/mother/daughter was in their custody, and then threaten him by threatening her with abuse. They'd then promise to release the women if their men would talk, inform on the insurgents. No matter that most the men were picked up in general sweeps and had no more to do with the insurgency than you or me.

That was the reason behind severl attacks on the prison by insurgents -- the Iraqi's public demand that the US release all the women they were holding. At the time the military admitted to holding only 4 women, including the one who supposedly ran a bio-weapons lab.

I don't have the links, but surely one of our friends here can come up with it.

3. I believe that Caligula is planning to "bring Democracy" to
the US like he has to Iraq. Maybe these raids and kidnappings are practice for when his attention turns to us...

8. They're still kidnapping children too.
Soldiers raid Iraq city for insurgents; success cloudy

....The young men were courteous to soldiers and seemed earnest in their answers. They were clearly terrified, and their younger sister cried as the soldiers cuffed the young men and led them away. One soldier went back and told the women, "Tell your father that if he wants his sons back he needs to come to the base and talk to us about who he is."

By late Monday, interrogators were not yet sure what, if any, information the brothers could provide about al Hamdani or if they had found the sons of the man they wanted.
