We don't need 'moral values'
I have Moral Values, they are tolerance, compassion, fairness, and more.

We don't need the type of 'moral values' that James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, etc. are talking about.

'Moral values' is simply a code word for Bigotry, Hate, Racism, Homophobia, Stupidity, and Evil all wrapped up into one little package.

While we were building up voters to vote for Kerry because they knew of Bush's Incompetence. They were building up voters for Bush because of moral values.

These people with their calls of 'moral values' are dangerous, hateful, and evil people that need to be stopped by any means necessary.

1. Our mistake was that we did not define the Democratic Party...
as the Party of moral values. And I would put the morals of our Party up against the fake morals of the Repubs any day of the week..

3. What we need to do is redefine Democratic Values
SO that people know what we stand for. We also need to make it clear what Republican values are.

6. Our values ARE moral, and we need to promote them that way
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 09:07 AM by kwassa
because true morality is important to all of us, and to the majority of Americans.

The Republicans "moral values" can be attacked for what they are: immoral. If we don't attack them on this basis, they claim the "moral" high ground by default WHICH IS WHAT THEY DO ALL THE TIME.

They therefore create the illusion that they are the moral party, and are voted for on that basis.

I think that Democrats, and liberals in general, are uncomfortable talking about morality, but we need to get over that, or we can expect to continue to lose elections.

8. No
"By any means necessary" does not mean violence against them in my book.

Violence is not an option IMO. Sorry if I mislead anyone about that.

9. True Morality
I think we need to start an organization and call it "Focus on Your Own Damn Family," which would encourage moralists to truly live up to their ideals. It would offer marriage counseling to those individuals who are worried that gay marriages will end their own marriages. It would provide a checklist of helpful hints for those individuals who are worried about all the evil and sinful shows on television. The checklist would even have useful diagrams showing how to turn a television off with a remote and where the "off" button is on the television if the remote is too difficult to use. We could even provide information about what wars do to the "unborn" for those pro-lifers who believe that Bush is one of them.

We could also educate them about what it means to be a truly moral person. A truly moral person does not need to talk about morality. Instead, he or she is too busy living up to his or her ideals without worrying about what other people are doing.
