Did I miss something? Did American interrogators actually subject a prisoner at Guantanamo to Chinese water torture??
If so, God help us all. In case you missed it, Kari on Mythbusters subjected herself to water torture by choice during an experiment. She was in comfortable restraints, she was surrounded by supportive teammates, and she was turning into a basket case in only 90 minutes (at which point she was released). You do not mess around with psychological torture. This stuff is real.

2. I don't know, but it has been said that "water-boarding" has been done |
|
Water-boarding actually sounds worse than Chinese water torture, because it involves near-suffocation while restrained. Plus there is the actual risk of suffocation.
I saw that episode of Mythbusters with the water torture. I was amazed that the girl broke down so quickly. It shows how horrible restraints in stress positions are.

3. how is that worse than "water boarding"? |
|
where they strap you to a board, and hold you upside in water until you almost drown, pull you out, resuscitate if necessary, and then repeat the process.
That was in the gonzales memo as acceptable interrogation technique and NOT torture.
I'd rather not have either one, but isn't that worse than the drip of water torture?
