Congress: Maxine Waters Rocks Rainbow Push Convention: Denounces Bush Lies on War
Posted by: downing on Sunday, June 12, 2005 - 10:55

Congress Member and House Judiciary Committee Member Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) shook up the Rainbow Push Coalition's 34th Annual Convention in Chicago today, winning huge standing ovations for a speech denouncing President Bush for lying about the war. Waters announced that she and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus plan to inform the House Democratic Leadership that they will introduce amendments on the issue of the war EVERY DAY from now on.

Waters told the crowd that Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean had received attention for criticizing the Republican Party in recent days, but that "he did not say enough."

"Bush is a liar," Waters said, according to an observer who phoned AfterDowningStreet.org. "He lied about weapons of mass destruction and he lied about the war."

Waters called Vice President Dick Cheney "a thief," and said that he was stealing for Halliburton.

And Waters said that Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice will "go anywhere and say anything they tell her to say, and have the audacity to do it with a smile."

...after which the applause grew too loud for our observer to hear the Congresswoman's remarks.

14. I was thinking the same thing.
The CBC definitely speaks for me. Their voice is awesome! I'm only disappointed I couldn't be a part of it if I were in congress. They are an amazing group of people. Truly inspirational Americans.

13. I like bill, butt he can kiss my ass for hanging out with the bushtapo.
I have forgiven that man for every evil deed, real or imagined, that he may have ever committed in his life-time.

BUTT, his ASSociation with the BUSHTAPO is more than disgusting. It is downright REVOLTING. After he turned his back on Jimmy Carter and went to the Popes funeral with the BFEE, I have only one comment to make:

FUCK YOU BILL CLINTON.

24. He could work with Jimmy Carter or the Democrats.
There is NO good reason to work with the bushtapo. I would have rather seen him work alone for Tsunami relief than what he is doing with the bush family. For a couple months there, he was hangin out with them almost non-stop

26. Clinton and GHW Bush could accomplish a lot more together
than they could separately. Most Americans are mature enough to realize that political opponents can work together on a common humanitarian cause without sacrificing their political ideals.

29. He only sacrificed Jimmy Carter to keep himself
from being further attacked by the republicans. Bill Clinton could have insisted that Jimmy Carter was included at the Pope's funeral.

The problem was that Mr. Carter had been critical of the bushtapo's policy and showed no signs of repenting.

During a recent interview on Larry King, Barbra Bush had this to say about Bill Clinton after the question was asked. "Well, at least he is not out there criticizing the president".

The BFEE effectively has the former head of our party neutered, and curled up down by a dish of water. The sickening part is that he completely volunteered for this new role.

I do not believe that Clinton and GHWB can "achieve more together" than Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter can. After all, Jimmy Carter has made a career out of helping the poor the past 25 years.

Bill Clinton turned his back on the Democratic party when he decided to romance the evil Sith. I think most Americans are mature enough to admit this fact.

The most hurtful part to me is that I was once a huge Bill Clinton fan. I fought his battles in the streets all through his presidency, and afterward. I have even donated plenty of money to move-on.org, answered his "personal" public requests for campaign money, and I have even donated to his wife even though I live 700 miles away from her District.

This bush romance thing is the limit. It is vile and disgusting. It is the most disturbing act Bill Clinton has ever committed.

It just goes to show you how deeply the undercover republican strategists are embedded in our party.
