CAFTA in Peril on Capitol Hill
One Business Leader Gives Lawmakers an Ultimatum

By Thomas B. Edsall
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, June 12, 2005; Page A06

With the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) in serious trouble, a prominent business leader recently laid it on the line: Business groups are prepared to cut off campaign contributions to House members who oppose the pact.

"If you are going to vote against it, it's going to cost you," Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, warned recently during a meeting on Capitol Hill of leaders of a 500-plus business-trade association coalition with more than 500 members.

The Corporate fascists are becoming more brazen. Not only are they writing these agreements, but they are paying Congressmen to pass them. Campaign finance is critically needed as well as the end of Corporate person hood. Please consider the effect you have if you support your local chamber of commerce.

2. This is good, though...
It is an ideal situation for US representatives to say: "What is it going to cost me? Money? Do you think everything and everyone can be bought for money? Not me! I'll vote against CAFTA because it is a bad idea...keep your money, I don't want it!"

Will they do it?

That might happen in an alternate universe, but not this one. Our congress critters understand one thing and one thing only:

4. I believe this is the jerk
when asked why corporations are exporting jobs to foreign countries replied that US workers don't have the skills to do technical work.
Of course the reason is CHEAP LABOR.
