Clark beats Bush in latest USA Today poll

Lots of other interesting stuff too like:

48% of Americans now feel it was not worth going to war in Iraq (50% said it was worth it)

only 43% believe Saddam was involved in 9-11, 50% think he was not (still terrible but down from a couple weeks ago)

And 51% of Americans now disagree with Bush on the issues that matter most to them.

1. Good news for Dean Too!!

Everyone says he can't beat Bush but he is statistically tied with Bush among registered voters--Bush 49% and Dean 46%

This poll is good for all of our candidates against Bush.

2. it's all cause of Dean!

I'm only half kidding.

I actually think that Howard Dean and his supporters (of whom I am one) deserve alot of credit for bush's falling poll numbers. Dean was out there saying the emperor had no clothes when almost everybody else was admiring the trim on bush's jacket.

Dean's rise in the polls was arguably based on his telling the truth on bush. Other dems then started to pick up the chorus - calling bush a "miserable failure" being the best line I've heard so far.

It took the combination of terrible news (falling economy, rising casualty figures, clear lack of leadership or vision) PLUS democrats willing to call bush the failure that he is, in order for normal folks to start to realize what a mess bush has gotten us into.

Realizing what a mess bush has gotten us into is very different from realizing what a mess we are in.

And I think we have Howard Dean to thank for making clear that difference.

5. I notice Chris Matthews tonight is not mentioning the latest poll

which has Clark BEATING *. Nooooo, he is only talking about the Newsweek, which had Clark as the Dem frontrunner, but not beating Bush by 4 points. It's reversed in the opposite direction today. Guess Chris doesn't record in prime time after all, lol.
