Bible mentions helping the poor "3,000 times.
Dean Said In This Article

"Let me remind those Republicans,'' he said, that the Bible mentions helping the poor "3,000 times. I have not yet seen gay marriage mentioned in the Bible. That is a Republican issue.''

3. Oh, but one doesn't take the Bible LITERALLY!!!
Neocons have learned how to interpret It's intentions. What they decipher the message is 3,000 fuck the poor, give me mine.

5. Huh! I thought they meant the "poor rich"
Being rich is so difficult and what does "rich" mean, anyway? If you only have $2 billion, you are sure poor compared to those with $10 billion!

Those "poor" rich souls! Nobody understands the troubles they've seen; no one has any compassion for their plight and travails! It is so damn hard for them to get good help any more, help that can actually speak English.

Once 89% of Americans are reduced to beggars, then the rich will be able to get some decent, college educated help and their children won't be aspeaken Black English or be L1 Spanish!

13. Ka freakin pow
I can just hear the Dean naysayers: "Well, not EVERY Republican is against gay marriage! There's an underalderman in the 18th ward of East Bumblefuck who isn't explicitly against gay marriage, so Dr. Dean's characterization of all Republicans is horribly wrong, terribly misguided, and he should watch what he's saying because it hurts the Democratic program to force all the rest of the Republicans to defend their narrow-minded, bigoted, unbiblical ways."

Sit back and wait for it; you know it's coming.

WRT the Voting Rights Act reauthorization litmus test for the Repug party:

After Dean talked about this litmus test, I asked him about his support for Jackson's voting rights amendment, which I thought he said in a morning panel discussion he backed. I wanted to double-check.

Dean said, "I haven't made up my mind,'' an answer that confused me since I thought he had.

I figured he misunderstood my question since I could not imagine Dean would be undecided on this one. So I sought in a follow-up to clarify if he was committed to the amendment. Dean, I think, thought I was trying to trip him up.

"That kind of stuff has been going on all week. And I am not answering that question," Dean said.

Rep. Jackson wanted to be helpful. He said his proposed amendment "need not be a litmus test at this stage for how Republicans relate to anyone.''

Dean then said, "Congressman Jackson does not have to speak for me. But the truth is, you don't get to speak for me, either.

"My view is very clear. I support the amendment.''

then, the Cheney quotes

on balance I don't think it came out too positive for Dean.

WTF is up with that section I quoted, anyway? anybody care to tell me what the deal is with that?

and Dean should start hitting them back with some of the unbelievable egregious quotes out there from socalled Pug leaders like Falwell/Robertson/Helms/Lott/Thurmond, etc.

He could be better prepared, but I do enjoy the fact that he's saying more of the things that need to be said. It's incredible the way the media do their utmost to paint him in a negative light at all opportunities.
