Is China being groomed for the role of the next all purpose devil? |
|
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 02:20 PM by KlatooBNikto
Last week, Donald Strangelove spouted off about how China is spending too much money on arms purchases abroad. He failed to see who China's enemies might be.Now comes another Neo-Con,Donnelly, who thinks that China may well be a long term threat and that means, what else, we need to increase our defense budget even more.
If and when the Iraq war comes to a close, this will be dusted off and another Pearl Harbor type incident will be manufactured, this time with a cast of characters straight out of The Manchurian Candidate.
Don't say I didn't tell you.

China owns us.
We do not dare screw with them. They call in our debt, we go under.

That's not really relevant, what is relevant is the fact that if we screw China over, there are a lot of American companies that will fall.
And I'll bet greed plays better with those companies then loyalty to your country or idiot politicians!!
I mean look at the fact that all the U.S. companies currently overseas went there to put more money in their pockets, and left a lot of American workers out in the cold. This is more then enough evidence that the companies were more concerned with greed then they were with loyalty to their fellow countrymen.
Besides, short of dropping a nuke, there isn't much of a chance that the U.S. military can beat an organized military force. If you need evidence of that just look at how great they're doing in Iraq against insurgents with IED's, RPG's, Carbombs, and AK-47's.

China to India to Mexico to Brazil to Malaysia. The cards are being held by the big shots on Wall Street.Even though we may like to think of China as the next Superpower, the real power is being wielded right out of the offices of our banks and brokerages.I don't think they will let any single nation even come close to challenging our power ( oops, I misspoke.I should have said challenging THEIR power.)

China is a superpower. China provides 90% of our manufactured goods and God knows how much outsourced labor.
Rich people (especially rich people) want to be friends with China.

6. China scoffs at Rummy here... |
|
Peng Guangqian, a major general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), who is also a research fellow with the PLA Military Academy of Sciences, said on Friday that Rumsfeld's frequent mention of the military threat from China has at least three true objectives.
"Firstly, the US Department of Defense needs an excuse to maintain its huge military budget and military scale; secondly, portraying China as a military threat could help promote the sale of US arms and; thirdly, China as a military threat could help the US continue to interfere in Taiwan Straits relations and could be used as a good excuse for the U.S. to sell weapons to Taiwan's military," Peng elaborated.
Peng said Rumsfeld's accusations coincided with a recent Pentagon's China military report, and that various experts who have read it feel it reads like science fiction and exaggerates China's military capabilities and intentions.
Last year, China's national defense budget was 211.7 billion yuan (about 25.5 billion US dollars), while that of the United States was 455.9 billion US dollars, or 17.8 times of China, Peng said. Per capita US defense expenditures were 77 times that of China. US official peddles weaponry sale by "cooking up" China military threat theory

9. Which is why they're not the next target... |

When we go to war we do it against Panama, Grenada, Iraq, Afghanistan...
Now, what do these countries have in common that China doesn't? Answer: None of them have nuclear weapons, or even a threatening armed forces.
We don't attack countries like China. When it comes to places like them and North Korea, we can use "diplomatic means." Why we couldn't use diplomatic means in Iraq is beyond me.

11. China is no Iraq, Grenada, Panama... |
|
We don't want to fight China...Just like we never wanted to fight the USSR. China is too huge, too advanced, and too willing to drop a couple million lives to win any war.
We may set them up to the our Arch Enemy on the Global/Economic scene soon when they're fully industrialized...but honestly...I think we'll have already lost by the time that happens.
We only do real well with enemies that we can kick the shit out of...3rd world countries where we can declair (if not achieve) victory over in time for the next election.
China is NOT that country. Hell we're scared to really confront North Korea (and rightly so)...and their small time compared to what China offers in terms of opposition...and China hold how much of our national Debt? They already control our economy if they want to.
