Who else is tired of Court Circuses?
Perhaps we need a federal law to say that no Trial can last longer than a week.

Seriously, these Celebrity trials must mess up our judicial system, almost as bad as what Bush is doing for our country.

That is what we need IMO, a time limit for all trials, I think it sounds good.

1. Come on, the trial is not the problem, it's the disproportionate media
coverage.

Would Jackson be on trial for so long if he was just a 'normal' guy?

(By normal I mean non-Celebrity, normal income, etc.)

3. I don't think it is practical to have a time limit for a trial. nt

5. And what happens when the cases cannot be, or are not, ...
presented within a week? What about when a jury can't reach a verdict within the week?

7. someone mentioned we should protest at these events.
I think that was a great idea--sorry I can't remember who said it. But we struggle all the time to get the media's attention, why don't we got where they already are and put OUR causes in the spotlight? Granted, I'm not in CA, but something to think about next time one of these happens.

9. Court circuses have been going on for hundreds & thousands of years!
Leopold and Loeb

Sacco and Venzetti

Lizzie Borden

Fatty Arbuckle

Scopes Monkey Trial

Hell, trials in Roman times were a big deal for public consumption.

Now is no different--just more media, but people will *always* interested.
