5. if Dean is not the nominee
I think he would be excellent as VP especially for someone like Clark or Edwards or Gep. Dean radiates excitement and has a strong grass roots base. He does what a VP candidate should do--sock it to em.

But I expect Dean will be on the top of the ticket. :)

6. Richardson, what the hell!
I think he's be a good vice presidential candidate. He could help a lot in NM, AZ and NV, which are key to the "emerging Democratic majority."

7. So cute...Dean is not even a choice...
makes sense to me because I think that he'll be the nominee...why is it that I think that your reasons for not including him were more nefarious?

Folks like you just strengthen my bond to Dean!

15. put the tinfoil hat away
I didn't include Dean because I don't think he wants to be the VP.

8. I'd like to see a woman....
Nancy Pelosi, for example. But, since we need Florida, Bob Graham is probably the logical choice.

10. I would except the job myself if asked ;)
other than that I would love to see John Edwards as VP. (if he don't get the Presidenial nomination) The more I see him the more I like him, although DK gets my primary vote. I think Edwards has a big future.

11. Edwards all the way
Unless there's a reason for Kerry or Clark (if neither get the nomination) to bolster the ticket with nat'l security or foreign policy credentials, Edwards has to be the one. First, he's basically risking the next 4 years of his political career by running for President so if he doesn't get the nomination the Dems will have to decide whether they want to waste such a bright, articulate and effective political talent. I saw Face the Nation this last Sunday and he doesn't miss a step. He was really on and I think 8 years as VP (I'm making alot of assumptions here about us winning twice here) will get him looking more like a 50 year old (gray hear, some wrinkles) and he'll have the experience that his critics say he doesn't have right now. But who knows, maybe we'll have somebody else by then to consider too.

13. Depends on who wins nomination
Total strategery on this one. One of the battleground states has to be the home of the VP. Graham in Fla, Gephardt in Mo, Clark in Ark, Edwards if NC looks like it can be in play. We have to get somebody who can actually carry a crucial state.

No more Lieberman type picks. Pick a state we think we can win, that we need, that is close, and the top democrat from that state should get the nod.

17. Dean/Clark ticket
I've been saying it for months. Dean has wayyyyy too much support to flounder at this point. The country will take Dean seriously by how much money he will raise in the 3rd quarter. Watch out W here we come. People Powered Howard is unstopable, its just that now the new kid on the block, Clark is in the limelight.

Howard Dean 2004

with a position for Clark somewhere in the administration.

I would like to see Kucinich have a role, as well.
