In the United States of America, we are taught from birth that our press is free from such government meddling. This is an insideous lie about the very nature of the news institution in this country.
One that allows the government to lie to us while denying the very fact of the lie itself.

Who Controls the Media?

Soulless corporations do, of course. Corporations with grinning,
double-breasted executives, interlocking directorates, labor squabbles
and flying capital. Dow. General Electric. Coca-Cola. Disney.
Newspapers should have mastheads that mirror the world: The
Westinghouse Evening Scimitar, The Atlantic-Richfield Intelligentser .
It is beginning to dawn on a growing number of armchair ombudsmen that
the public print reports news from a parallel universe - one that has
never heard of politically-motivated assassinations, CIA-Mafia banking
thefts, mind control, death squads or even federal agencies with
secret budgets fattened by cocaine sales - a place overrun by lone
gunmen, where the CIA and Mafia are usually on their best behavior. In
this idyllic land, the most serious infraction an official can commit
__is a the employment of a domestic servant with (shudder) no
residency status.

This unlikely land of enchantment is the creation of MOCKINGBIRD.

It was conceived in the late 1940s, the most frigid period of the cold
war, when the CIA began a systematic infiltration of the corporate
media, a process that often included direct takeover of major news
outlets.

Dumb, blind conservative, greedy, gullible, one track minds... Those are corporate entities most trusted to own the consolidated for profit news groups. On a more massive scale than Pravda you end up with an even more circus like travesty and incompetence. They must have breathed a sigh of relief to get rid of the maverick CNN creator Ted Turner(being conservative and rich is not enough of brain dead stooge for the scheme).

So they prefer the incompetence to news rooms getting too into the truth.
So they must choose a downward spiral cycle and reap what benefits are available from the down side- which is terrible stupidity, emotion driven chimeras, infotainment, idiotic partisan pundits, spoon-feeding so obvious it is embarrassing to villains everywhere, huge gaps and fizzles in reporting major news, accepting market loss and profit loss as good for ignorance and apathy and diffusion of the national audience(though this means a dispersal of propaganda effectiveness and splitting of the nation.

What they HAVE to be set on now is reaping benefits from the downside of a gutted lie and even fear of trying to get the news back on track. The end result is not pretty to put it mildly. As a stealth substitute for tinpot dictator propaganda it must degenerate into that and worse, because the tattered rags of pretense cloak the American information landscape like one of Kristo's degrading sculpture wraps.

11. Our country never stood-down after WWII

there were elements within our government that continued the war, even though that war had been declared over. Rather than standing-down as ordered, these people in the OSI (precessor to the CIA) made another enemy, called communism. When communism ended, then it became terrorism, like terrorism is something that can be defeated with guns.

WWII was declared over in words only. We have always been at war, with one 'enemy' or another. There has been a 'standing' army as long as I can remember and that goes back to the late 40's. The thing is though, this army rather than protecting our country, has been 'protecting' the interests of our wealthy around the world. No wonder so many in the world hate us. It is the wealthy and their use of our army that has created terrorism, our latest 'enemy'. Maybe we are looking at the wrong place if we want to end terrorism. The greatest terrorists live within our gated communities, not in some cave someplace around the other side of the world

Notwithstanding what the recruits are told when they join the armed services, now the 'elites' have created and nourished the idea that this citizen army is a 'professional' army, like thats what we the people want. I do not want a 'professional' army, they are too much like mercenaries, I prefer citizens be the army, because citizens hate being there and do not want to participate in a war about money for the elite's benefit.

To make a better world, we need to do some real house cleaning right here at home, in the USA.

Edit: A good place to start, is to flush the influence of the intellegence community from the media, the information source of what agents of our government have been doing these last 60 years. The ones really responsible for terrorism in our world.

Oct. 1977 article in Rolling Stone. Any journalist worth his salt should be trying to update this ! But Noooooooooo. That can't get into print without the corporate masters consent, just as Gary Webb was crucified for great reporting.
