Will any major media outlet stop playing softball with the Bush gang?
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 05:34 PM by quinnox
I'm still wondering if any major media source will start doing their job and asking difficult questions of the Bush administration.

As Bush's popularity wanes, will they finally get the courage to do real investigative stories and journalism on the Bush cowboys, or will they forever be too frightened or controlled?

1. I doubt it!
I believe the media's back will have to be up against the wall. They will have to be sitting on information that the most uneducated person is aware of, which will force them to confront this administration. And, even then, they will still go after them half-heartedly!

3. When enough people tune them out!
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 05:56 PM by Hubert Flottz
Every American who is tired of being lied to, can pull the plug on the TV, today. If we want real results we could all call our cable companies and tell them to come turn it off, because we're sick of paying for the lies! If we all called in the same day they'd panic. Leave it cut off until the liars agree in public to quit lying.

Edit. Read some good books, like,'The Rockefeller File','Trading With the Enemy','None Dare Call it Conspiracy' 'The Betrayal Of America','A People's History Of The United States' and 'Bushbook'.

4. Not a prayer
The only thing that would make them stop kissing *'s butt is if kissing *'s butt had negative economic consequences for the Media companies themselves. But since they all want those pesky rules about the people owning the airwaves completely gutted and with * in favor of the idea that won't happen.

Meantime all the hairdo's and the tiwnkies and the enablers will croon their songs of praise, go to lunch in nice restaurants and pretend they are journalists.

Contemptable swine the lot of them.

Here is my standard letter to the Media:

Dear Sir/Madam:

As you know, on May 1 of this year a document now commonly referred to as “|The Downing Street Memo” was released into the British Press. This document raises serious question about how the administration was handling intelligence related to Iraq and appears to suggest that the Bush Administration had already decided on war when publicly it was claiming that no such decision had been made. Now further documents have been released in the British media which cast even further doubts.

These documents and other documents suggest that the Bush administration was determined to “fix intelligence” around a predetermined policy. Some of these documents make it clear that the administration had no credible plan for dealing with the post-war occupation.

It is most disturbing that there has been a virtual media blackout regarding “The Downing Street Minutes” and other disturbing documents.

Even more disturbing is the absence in the America media of any credible in-depth follow-up discussion or coverage regarding strong, credible and independent evidence that the Bush Administration intentionally mislead the U.S. Congress, the media and the American people.

I do hope you will accept the responsibility to address this issue and provide serious investigative journalism into this matter.

Furthermore, on Thursday June 16, 2005, Rep. John Conyers, Jr., ranking minority member of the House Judiciary Committee, and other House members will hold a hearing to consider testimony concerning the Downing Street minutes and questions of possible fixing of prewar intelligence. I do hope you will be giving full coverage to these events.

Sincerely,
