It's was great. Tucker obviously doesn't like it when you make fun of his bow tie. Jon comes out swinging from the start, and basically tells them that their lowering the standard of American discourse. As a legitimate News Channel, it is their obligation to the American people to hold polititians accountable, and try to get at the truth.

In response Carlson tries to call Jon out for lobbing softball questions to his Daily Show guests. His response is great.

To paraphrase "Your CNN, the show that leads into mine is puppets that make prank phonecalls."

Jon is a comedian, his job is to be funny, and he's very good at it. It's not his fault that one taping of his "fake" News show has more truth in it that any weeks worth of "legitimate" News. If the rest of this country's news outlets would acctually do their jobs, we wouldn't have to rely on a comedian to tell us like it is.

Any outrage directed at Jon for not holding Bill O'Reily, or Colin Powel's feet to the fire, I feel, is misplaced. Please redirect any critique you would give to Jon, to the "real" news outlets. It's not Jon's job to be a hard hitting investigative journalist, that's their job, and there failure to do their job is why we've been turning to a "fake" news show for real news.

Lauer was completely baffled, because on his planet everybody suckles at the mighty teat of *. His reaction when from total astonishment to being a bit offended. How dare you show disapproval for my war hero prezdent!

Jon started laughing and said with some sarcasm, "What a shocking reaction from the audience of this show."

Then he ended the interview because time was running short... and it prevented Lauer from being able to take up arms for his hero.
