The state will not tolerate any check on absolute power. An officer, acting under presumed color of law, can act with almost total impunity.

The right to use force to resist illegal arrest has almost been extinguished. The right to keep your identity private when not charged with a crime has vanished. The right to refuse consent to a search continues to be weakened.

How far we have fallen, and how low the concept of liberty has been dragged.
