at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4087624.stm is a good video of Airbus's flight around the Paris air show. IMHO this is the most critical flight for the plane. A couple planes have died after crashes at the Paris air show....


Question for any commerial pilots out there... What are the red bars for .

1. Is this the plane....

.... that's had a history of low-speed crashes - like 4 or 5 of them?

Where Airbus always claims pilot error, even though the freaking plane is 100% fly-by-wire meaning it should be near impossible for anything the pilot could reasonably do to cause a crash?

Or am I thinking of another plane? :)

2. That's probaboly the A320

It's had a great safety record in service but when it was new there were problems. In fact one crashed at the Paris Air Show back in 89 or so. The 380 is the superduper two deck job that holds like 550 people. Moo.

Actually, they look like they might be part of some kind of compressed air system for something hydraulic?

8. I doubt they are part of something hydralic...

they would be 1/2" piping, not 2".

Probably just a support railing for moving into the cockpit area. If the plane dipped you could be thrown into the panel.
