Bush-bashing in the workplace
There was a nice, unexpected interlude at work today, when one of the supervisors, apparently having a conversation with a nearby underling about hours or such, blurted out for all to hear: "Isn't George Bush trying to take away overtime pay?" Then he mumbled some unpleasantries about him.

I mentioned (freshly emboldened - I have NEVER discussed politics at work, although I gather from context that many of my colleagues are at least fairly liberal, or at worst, apolitical) that it was a non-starter in Congress, and what it was all about. He was glad, and said "he just wants to help the rich". So much for the stereotype of middle management being Republican (and the appearance to match). Made my heart glad.

No big point to this anecdote - just happy to share the random rumbings of discontent in the hinterlands. If you hear a co-worker bash Bush, run with it! :D

8. Good to hear the personal stories of People being down on
the chimp!

I had my own talk with a co-worker today on Iraq.

I was the only one from work that went to protest against the invasion.. But we have a "Peace IS Patriotic, too" sign on our wall.

So there's not much disagreement ...they just don't know the extent of the tragedy in Iraq. So I was letting her in on some knowledge of just how many Iraqis have been killed so far...When I said thousands..she was shocked! :-( Now I want to investigate it more so I'll have More facts to relate.
