6. They want to return to the '50s. White, Patriarchal, and "safe".

A sort of Mayberry USA with a "Father Knows Best" ideal. Dad with his briefcase, Mom in the kitchen, and really nice kids named Buffy, Timmy, and Scooter who wanna be just like Mom & Dad.

They have a Mexican gardner named Pancho who talks funny, a bossy black maid named Jemima who just loves her White Folks, a new Buick, and a white house with a picket fence.

There's no crime (except for funny old Hank the town drunk). Mom bakes cookies and her greatest ambition in life is to own a new refrigerator. Dad allows himself to be manipulated into buying a new refrigerator by mom and allows Buffy to date that boy who combs his hair funny, Timmy gets to drive the car but dents the fender, and Scooter gets to join the Boy Scouts. But, real life tragedy ensues, when the refrigerator light doesn't work, that bad boy tries to kiss Buffy, and Timmy's attempts to cover up the dent fail. But, Dad sorts it all out with help from cute Scooter who has embraced Tradional Family Values from the Boy Scouts.

Just talk to any rightwinger and question them about what they want and you'll hear echoes of the above.

7. I'm afraid its more criminal than that

1. wants to go back to the America of a more simple time because they
think EVERYONE was better off - No, they are pushing the oil economy
and this is post-industrial.
2. really think that forcing christianity down our throats will
make the USA a better place - This is the surface appearance of a bully
shoving the minority around just to show they're bigger. It is not
christianity that they preach, they do not help the poor. Their religion
is one of enslavement.
3. are pirates that have boarded the ship of state to take what
they can get. - Rather true, as much as they want power for its
own sake and will abuse it until they are culled.
4. want to create an intellectual/ economic peasantry to serve the
upper classes - Peasants have rights and i'm afraid that they
are not willing to settle for such a middle class. Perhaps the better
word is "serf"
5. really believe that supply side economics works - no,
they are so illiterate that they don't even know the theories of
supply side economics themselves.
6. hate independent women, people of color, immigrants, the poor,
non-christians and scientists FEAR WOMEN and intelligence.. yes
and are willing to set about conditions to enslave the lot to make
sure that the mythical liberated minority never arises.
7. are philestines Yes, that too

afraid of people who aren't There is more evil intent than simple
ignorance.
9. hate lattes, chai tea and safe fuel efficient vehicles
no - these items are window dressing on their planned slave state.

you bought the food from one of their companies that keeps animals
in huge pens and kills them up and grinds them to bits for cat food,
you're ok.

got to break the GOP into these two parts when examining it, in order to understand it.

10. A lot of those are true enough

if you are thinking of the entire RW structure, but the controlling thing to me is the pirate issue(which word is not how they see themselves of course). ALL RW groups, like any other in crowd are lusting simply over the spoils of victory and they value very very little of what they have taken. By doing so all their other preening values are shoved aside while they gorge like any other top gang.

Whatever they were before they are now lost in the vice of power, mentally more than anything else and they were nuts to begin with. Their goals are simply self-gratification and maintenance by crushing their foes(with pleasure). God shrinks to a boutonniere on a ego suit.
