C-Span Coverage of Conyers Hearing Decision Wednesday Afternoon

I just called C-Span ([phone]) to request that they provide live coverage of the DSM hearing this coming Thursday. I was told that the decision to cover it or not will be made on Wednesday.

Please call that number and encourage them to air this important event.

Folks, this is a lot more important than a link to some silly poll in a local paper. We really need to make it known at C-Span how important their viewers believe this hearing to be. Please write or call if you agree.

I was told that the decision on what C-SPAN broadcasts is up to the producers.

I don't know how current this info is, but I found it on sites that were upset with C-SPAN for not covering 9-11 victims conference.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

To cover an event live, C-SPAN has to arrange for a crew and a truck to be available to cover the event...and then see if they can get both to the Conyers hearing and then air it live. IIRC, C-Span has two local crews that roam to the meetings, but they only have one remote truck...so coordination is a major issue here.

I imagine with all the interest coming in, unless Brian's getting big money to cover an AEI speech live instead, there will be some C-SPAN coverage on this tomorrow. If not live, it will be recorded.

Begrugingly, I give some credit to C-SPAN for trying to cover this story. Many of us here remember just a few scant weeks ago when they refused to acknowledge the stories about the minutes.
