Just got this from a Republican about DSM
I just read th DSM you refered to and dude, to call this u"nquestionably authentic" is a bit of a reach. Even if it is totally correct I still support what is happening in Iraq. The first vestige of freedom is happening in an area that hasn't been free in hundreds of years. It will be a very slow, painful and costly process but to me and most Americans if the election is any indication.

I have no idea as to what the election is indicating...

3. I think the USA should be devided between those who are for the invasion
and those against. Those for the war can financially support it and send themselves and the children over there to fight it. The rest of us can have our tax dollars go for things here at home and not go and kill civilians in a foregin country for oil.

In other words ...
Iraqis are brown people. Who gives a shit if we killed them? :grr:

I love this line: "Even if it is totally correct I still support what is happening in Iraq."

So ... even if * lied and thousands of people died, it doesn't matter, just as long as America got what it wanted. I wonder if the families of those 1700 soldiers feel the same way?

10. Interesting!
He has no problem with presidents lying then, even about something as serious as war?

I would ask him if he had a problem with a president lying about a personal affair. Oh, and if he says it was different because 'it was under oath' (the usual response from the RW), I would ask him what he thinks of the Presidential Oath of Office. Does he think a president is not obligated to be truthful, under his oath of office, with the American people?

But, having said that, and having spent many wasted hours arguing with the radical rightwing, I already know what he will say! This is a cult, imo, and they are programmed and no amount of logic can break through the thick wall of propaganda they have been exposed to for more than a decade.

Maybe it's time to consult with professional de-deprammers for these kind of people.

5. Official minutes from an official government meeting not unquestionable?
Even though they are correct
the rethug supports Bush's war in Iraq because
they stole the election.

Give up on the fool. Don't waste your time on the Brain Dead.

This person was my best buddy in the Vietnam era service, I am amazed by how he has changed over the years. I hold the same opinions that I had then. I guess these guys figure war is OK as long as it isn't THEIR butts in the line of fire...

on edit: added vietnam reference

6. Ask him if he's ready to be drafted
'cause the next invasion will require that the draft be reinstated. Maybe that will shut him up.

11. Is it what we were told? Would he/she let his/her son die for it?
I ask that person that. And this:

Are the Iraqi people better off? Even the 100,000+ bush has had killed?

And this:

Are we better off? Dead/maimed soldiers, lives and families destroyed, huge transfers of billions from our treasury to Halliburton - was it worth it?

It seems he/she doesn't spend much time refuting the minutes, but rather proposes that even if true, he still supports illegal invasions and mass murder, based on lies or not.

Baaa Baaa.

Ask where the wmds are.

12. He's wrong. "Most Americans" don't support the war.
As for the *cough* election, polls up to and afterward have never validated bush.

Iraq has never been free because Iraq has oil. That's it, that's always been it, and that will always be it until Iraq runs out of oil.

13. Iraq has a history of foreign occupation and rebellions to such
"The first vestige of freedom is happening in an area that hasn't been free in hundreds of years."

they will be free when we all leave them to construct their own country the way THEY want it. The Kurds history with the Shia and Sunnis is long and bloody.

If he still supports this lying President, then he shouldn't have a problem seeing the consequences of this war.

15. Ask him when is he going to Iraq and fight for freedom?
Ask him when is his children going to fight for freedom in Iraq?

That region of the world had been living by many of those laws for hundreds of years. Just because they do not live like we live, does not mean changing their way of life will make them free. It is ashame people are willing to sacrifice others loved ones in order to support this administration.

Also, we are all aware the last two elections where as real as a three dollar bill. He should face the fact that George Bush lied, just like him winning the election. That is what I am getting out of the connection with the election and DSM.

I just heard the voice of God say that the war was based on a lie and there was absolutely no after action planning done you refered to and dude, to call this u"nquestionably authentic" is a bit of a reach. Even if it is totally correct I still support what is happening in Iraq. The first vestige of freedom is happening in an area that hasn't been free in hundreds of years.
