Can't Conyers use the Congressional hearing room and force the repukes
to have him arrested or TRY to have him arrested???? Why not do that? Sensenbrenner doesn't own that fucking building! WE DO! Why not force their hand on this? Make them look like the FASCIST BASTARDS they are!

1. The Hearing Room is occupied
It's being used for Reverend Moon's RE-coronation as Messiah....:sarcasm:

2. Because it would distract from the purpose of the hearings.

3. Exactly... Let this bit of info out in context of the hearings, but
DON'T let it become THE STORY...

7. It would create a story that will otherwise be mostly ignored.

I disagree- it would add to the "what are they hiding" aspect of this issue, which the media will attempt to ignore & downplay as it is.

As it is, the DEMs would never do this anyway, so dont worry.

4. Does he really not have a room -?? Do it in front of the
Lincoln Memorial. Hopefully they would be stupid enough to arrest him there.

5. The Fascist bastard Sensenbrenner has told the Democrats
they are not allowed to use the hearing rooms for their issue forums anymore. :grr:

6. I would love for DEMs to use this kind of politcal theater....
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 03:23 PM by Dr Fate
...but don't count on it- I've not seen DEMs do anything particularly imaginative or "outside the box" since I've been paying attention.

At the least, they should send quotable, high-profile DEMs like Dean, Kerry, Hillary, Reid, Obama, etc on all the talk & debate shows to accuse the GOP of "hiding somthing" and offering up Repub refusal for a hearing room as more evidence of that.

As it is, the top DEMs are doing little or nothing to even promote awarness of the hearings, much less pulling publicity stunts as you suggest.

The great ideas DUers come up with and what the Big-wig DEMs actually do are 2 vastly different things.

8. And why does Sensenbrenner have the authority to stop any
elected official from using any room that is not previously booked? Who died and made him landlord of the Capital Building?

9. It's a great idea- but DEMs simply just don't do things like that.
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 03:22 PM by Dr Fate
Don't ever expect DEMs to do anything unconventional like that.

I've even suggested that DEMs break from the line of questioning on those interview & debate shows to bring up other issues the media wont cover- "NOOOOOO- We cant do it- too radical-we would look to pushy...we are guests on their shows, that would be rude..."

The DNC and high-profile DEMs are not even doing much of anything to promote awarness of the hearings themselves- much less high-lighting any of the other issues involved.

13. Asshole Sensenbrenner got pissed off at the hearing on the Patriot Act
Edited on Tue Jun-14-05 03:44 PM by in_cog_ni_to
last Friday. He accused the Democrats of calling the hearing on false pretenses. He just didn't like the testimony he heard from the witnesses so he threw a big ass FIT, shut off the microphones, repuke staffers threatened the court reporter if she didn't stop typing, he gaveled the hearing closed and walked out of the room LAUGHING! It was DISGUSTING! Sensenbrenner then told the Democrats they were no longer ALLOWED to use the TAX PAYER'S hearings rooms. WE PAY TAXES! WE OWN THOSE DAMN BUILDINGS! Not Sensenbrenner and the FASCIST REPUKES! :grr:

14. If Dem leaders are to stand a chance
they all need to get a SPINE, stand up to the Republican bullies make like the donkey and KICK SOME BUTT.
:kick:
Like Dean or hate him at least he's standing up to them. IMO rolling over and acting like a submissive dog just hasn't been cutting it.

Conyer's has as much a right to use that room as Sensenbrenner... imo they shouldn't have the hearing at the DNC (would read too much as a "party" issue imo). The Dems need to all stand united and insist that they be able to use a room or take it to another highly public forum. This hearing is something that should be a NATIONAL concern, an impeachable crime not just a "party" issue.

Errrr... it just amazes me... Clinton gets "blown" and lies about it and the Republicans are all over it... there is now more and more proof that Bush LIED and hundreds of THOUSANDS of people were (and are) BLOWN UP and they scury around trying to cover it up like it's nothing.
