OK Guys, The War is Getting To me Now.

Hey Guys,

As I was scanning across the boards tonight, I read a post that said "Every time I see a number, I cry." or something to that effect. I further analyzed this sentence and it disturbed me that every troop killed is merely a number. A group of lines to represent a mass of bodies.

Truly morale crushing to anyone serving, and that realizes the war is WRONG! The number is growing,my friends, within the ranks of the military who are becoming aware of the atrocities the ape shit president is implying on our troops abroad. A lot of us hate this war just as much as you do, but we are limited to being discreet on message boards and private conversations due to fears of prosecution of charges that are carried with speaking out against the agenda.

People, I despise this administration, I despise the war, and I despise the world over all. The military has given me a cynical way of thinking. I do support the troops, because I am one, but I am doing everything in my power to educate the ranks in my own command about what is going on. It is working, and the higher ups are not happy.

Because of my vociferous approach I am going to Captain's Mast. For those of you not familiar with military justice, it's like going into court, and pleading guilty and going straight to jail. Don't feel sorry for me though. I have been martyred for the cause, and people are beginning to read my works agains the administration. I fight every day for the liberal cause, and nothing, NOTHING will keep my intellectual progress down!

I feel your pain.
After 27 months of combat (River Patrol) in SE Asia I was stationed in Pearl Harbor during the early days of Watergate.
During a spirited discussion of same with a superior (Officer) said superior stated "He's my Commander in Chief and I would follow him thru the Gates of Hell if he needed me to". To which I replied that I definitely hoped he got the chance, the sooner the better.
Got 3 days bread and water for that one at the Marine Brig Pearl Harbor.

In all seriousness, I don't know what any of your faces look like, but it's good to have people out there like you guys. As the animals close around you it's good to know that there are always snipers behind the trees.

I'll be around for a week or so while the Commanding officer gets the case together. I'll have restriction regardless, it's something I have to face, and I plan on writing for every circuit I can find, taking my work to a higher level.

I technically won't be in Jail

I will be punished according to the Commanding Officer, he can sentence me anything from coming to work 4 hours more a day to 30 days confinement to the base and heavy labor (which I will prolly get). They will also dock my pay(No pay for 1 full month)and knock me down to an E-3.

I still will have my dignity.

Mom and Dad have my back as they always have. They are proud that I grew up independent and smart, and that I joined the military to further myself for it was the only chance I had to get a little cash in my pocket and knock some college out.

Interesting... later, he mentions that he's only 20, and talks about wanting to avoid a Dishonorable Discharge, so it would seem that he's enlisted. (Officers get "dismissed", not the dreaded Duck Dinner.) This makes it impossible for him to be charged under Art. 88, which only applies to commissioned officers. Is it possible that this poster is, I don't know... making it all up?
