I just heard that Kent Conrad added his name today to the anti-lynching resolution passed yesterday, making the holdouts an all-GOP cast.

...I find it interesting that no Democrats are on this list despite accusations yesterday that Southern Dems had gone against the proposal. I also find it interesting that out of the fifteen GOPers that chose to vote against it, only five represent Southern states.

9. Why do you think the GOPers are so big on private schools? They are....

...deliberately trying to price good educations out of the reach of anyone but the very wealthy. College tuitions have been going up every year...yet another way to put higher education out of the reach of the children of lower and middle income families.

These people see their religion and/or wealthy way of life as being "Whites Only"...minorities and liberals need not apply.

Additionally, I really believe that these people see the fear of lynching as a tool to keep minorities "under control".
