always been anti-bush or is this new? I don't know much about him but I am listening to him on C-SPAN taking neo-cons to task. :shrug:

He is mostly speaking about the great costs of war and the dissenters being regarded as un-patriotic. He is also speaking to the exporting of jobs.

Bottom line: there are points on which we and he will agree, but overall, he's NOT one of us.

8. Ron Paul is a classic libertarian.

He ran for president on a libertarian ticket several cycle ago. I forget which year. He is against government activity of just about every kind.

He favors a strong defense, but not offense. He has been rather consistent. Until GWBush it was most convenient for him to run as and caucus with Republicans, based on his no spend overall philosophy. He has had no problem being independent, and must recognize that Bush is an idiot.

He also is anti-choice, anti-gay, pro-prayer in school, etc. He's not a classic Lib, but a new variety of the Christo-fascist bent. He only dislikes the government when it's interfering with business interests, but he's never met an anti-privacy piece of legislation that he didn't like.

And to top it all off, he advocates for a return to the gold standard. Not an economic bright bulb either.

Personally, Im very glad to have him fighting the good fight against Bush while a majority of our representatives and sentors tuck tail.

I dont agree with any representative on every single thing. Just like I dont agree with very many people on every single thing. He is supposed to represent the views of his constituents and given the task, I think he does a pretty good job of putting emphasis where it is most important to me.

No one goes, "Hey, there's Ron Paul calling for the abolition of Medicare", or "Hey, Ron Paul wants to destroy the Endangered Species Act, get a load of him". Occasionally they do on the far right, since he goes farther than most of the other nuts in elected office.

Believe me, I'm glad to see him representing his district. His occasional shots across the GOP bow are welcome. But he's no democrat.

I found out about him was with the Real ID act. He voted against it (him and two other republicans were the only one's out of their party who did). Then I saw Alex Jones' "9/11: The Rise of Martial Law" and he interviewed Mr. Paul in Texas and Mr. Paul called Bush and his gang of thugs "neocons" there too.
