8. Grey Davis was a good guy. He would try to get your individual
complaints seen to if he could. I had a small brouhaha with the DMV. When I ran out of options I wrote him a letter as a last ditch option, not expecting anything from the Governor's office. He actually forwarded my complaint to an officer of the DMV who could help me, but whom I was previously stonewalled from contacting, and my problem was resolved. I really can't see Arnold giving a shit about the rank and file Californian like Grey Davis did.

I and and the majority of Californians were upset about the recall. I hope when Arnold puts up his phony election in November that there is a space to vote him out of office.

9. So true, Cleita
Grey Davis was pretty much milquetoast in personality but damn, I didn't think that recall would have ever been possible. At least with Davis we were assured some open space preserved and no Gerrymandering. Now we are in a morass and it is going to get really nasty. I'm sick about this pending election.

Also, from what I have heard, Davis was a war hero but of course he would never think to brag, he isn't that kind of person.
Two days ago, he apologized for the energy crisis we had. He admitted he didn't see it coming and didn't know enough about it to help.

If he could somehow reinvent himself, I wish he would try to run
again.

7. The recall was a successful tool of well funded RW minority extremists

here in CA, primarily Orange County/ San Diego/ and S Bernardino fringe groups.

The unintended consequences of government by proposition (we are inundated with props every election cycle) are pretty evident.

Davis made some interesting remarks recently, admitting his mistake in taking the energy deal from Enron, et al.

Folks forgot it was Pete Wilson (R-San Diego) who set up the circumstances for the scam when he was governor, and Davis was between a rock and a dark place.

Arnold's special election "crisis" is more of the same.
