LORAIN -- A 16-year-old boy was Tasered Sunday night while trying to hide from a police officer under a house's porch, according to a police report, the second instance in less than a week of a Taser used on a juvenile in Lorain.

In the report, the officer, Patrolman Joe Novosielski, said he chased the juvenile after seeing him yelling at another man at the scene of a reported fight involving possible firearms.

''Fearing that (the juvenile) may be armed with a weapon and his refusal to comply with me, I deployed my departmental issued Taser,'' Novosielski wrote in his report.

''I was scared,'' the youth said yesterday. ''He was still shocking me while he was putting on the cuffs.''

Neither Police Chief Cel Rivera or department members returned calls for comment yesterday.

The youth said he wanted to comply with the officer's commands but that he wasn't able to get out from under the porch.

Beginning last week , the Lorain PD have blasted a tied up Labrador retriever with a Shotgun This after the cop jumped the fence and entered an innocent owner's property, He gave no mind to the innocent pleading teenage owner.

Then they use the tazer to zap a 12 tear old on a school bus Thursday.(extensively discussed right here on DU)

Now they zap an unarmed shirtless 16 year old dressed in only shorts while he is trying to surrender, then release him to his father (who has no custody rights)

Way to go Lorain PD , how did you ever get by without such tactics?

It'd be interesting to see a roundup of all the states these taserings have happened in. I bet you ten bucks Florida leads the rest. Every time I read about a tasering story it seems to be in Florida.

3. I'm sorry but it is the POLICE who are making...

themselves the enemy (Us vs. Them), no the people. The Police should learn to be more responsible. That is why we have police. They are to keep the peace, not harrass and shoot at will.
