There is indeed a Christian flag.
I was reminded of this by the "Christian American Flag" post yesterday.

I attended a Southern Baptist school from grades k-4. Every morning, immediately after reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, we would turn to this flag

and say:

"I pledge allegiance To the Christian Flag
And to the Saviour,
For whose Kingdom it stands.
One Saviour, crucified,
risen and coming again,
With life and liberty
for all who believe."

Immediately after that, we would turn and pledge our allegiance to the Bible.

11. It's not the same life and liberty, it references the salvation of Christ.
But of course, not a single one of us knew the difference, and no one ever tried to explain. I'm not sure the teachers knew the difference either.

19. Pure brainwashing
You do something all the time but yet when an outsider is inside and looking in and asks "why?" you can't answer. That's brainwashing.

I attend a Church of Christ and we never had anything like that. Doesn't God teach about worshipping idols and whatnot with objects? Seems to me people are obsessed with flags whether it's that or the country flag. I love my flag as the next citizen but I don't worship it.

4. Yes.
It was treated equally, as was the American flag.

Which, in retrospect, is terrifying.

10. My grandmother and I talked about this flag last week
my mom wanted to take my son to vacation bible school with her. I gave her a lame excuse as a reason I wasn't going to let him go.

8. I went to Lutheran school till 8th grade and
we had a flag too that we pledged to after pledging to the American flag. I don't remember what the flag looked like, it was not called a Christan flag it was called 'The Lutheran flag'. I don't remember the pledge totally but remember enough to know it was different than the one you had.

13. What bothers me now is how closely it was linked to the American flag.
I had my first independent thought in the fourth grade when I realized that the attack on Disney I was reading was ridiculous, and that maybe the attacks on Democrats in the same paper and many of the other things we were told weren't very solid either, especially the miraculous Bible stories.

16. The article alleged that "The Lion King" was sacrilegious
Because Mufasa, while seeming to take God's place by appearing as a powerful, glowing spirit in the sky tells Simba that he is "the one true king" when of course, only Jesus Christ holds that title, and because Simba insults Jesus directly by exclaiming "Jeez!" several times.

27. Other Disney fiascos include:
Aladdin tells teenagers to take off their clothes.
Letters spelling the word S-E-X are formed by a cloud of dust in The Lion King.
Rafiki chants a naughty phrase in a talking Lion King book.
A minister becomes aroused during the wedding scene in The Little Mermaid.

12. I'm a Boomer, and in Catholic schools we pledged allegiance
to the American flag in grade-school. In high school, as a student, and later as a teacher at a Catholic high school, we pledged at assemblies occassionally, but daily school life began each class with a prayer, and no pledge. That was back then; i suppose it is different now that the Catholic Church has allied itself with the Fristarians.
