Efforts Intensify to End Gay Soldier-Ban
NEW YORK - Critics of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy are gaining new allies, including a few conservative congressmen and a West Point professor, as they press on multiple fronts to overturn the ban on out-of-the-closet gays and lesbians in the armed forces.

As part of their strategy, opponents of the policy are now highlighting the ongoing struggles of Army and Marine recruiters. The Servicemembers Legal Defense Network say in a new report that many highly trained specialists — including combat engineers and linguists — are being discharged involuntarily while the Pentagon "is facing extreme challenges in recruiting and retaining troops."

2. Please, don't hold back ;)
They'll go after warm bodies anywhere that's capable of carrying a gun.

Watch them lower the age or do something equally stupid in order to get more bodies. It'll be just short of the draft.

A memo somewhere in the pentagon probably says: Need ideas to get more people except for a draft.

3. Gays aren't good enough until recruitments go down?

I wonder how the Log Cabin Republicans think about that.

6. Exactly.
They didn't turn away gays during WWII or Korea or Vietnam either.

Only when the military is a decent peacetime employment alternative do they get all particular about gays.

4. why should gays die to defend the christian terrorists in the USA?
let all the right wingers send their precious little heterosexual babies to die for oil in Iraq, starting with the bush twins and ken mehlman's kids.

5. They shouldn't serve
I don't think that gays should serve until they are guaranteed the right to marry in all 50 states. Preferably by constitutional ammendment.

That's what Karl Rove would do if he were gay (wink, wink).

7. NOW it's OK TO BE GAY?????
I am sorry. I am all for gay rights. But THIS at THIS TIME is NOT RIGHT.

Let the gays in now because no one else will join the military? Fuck them and the homophobic horse they flopped in on.

I've had a feeling that the military was going to become "deaf" regarding the "don't ask, don't tell" rule. Apparently all the people who are sooooo concerned about having gay people in fox holes with them now find the potential situation to be "not so disconcerting".

I think there should be a MANDATORY DRAFT right now for every person who has a confederate flag painted on the back of their truck, for everyone with a "W" or "Bush" or "These colors don't run" or "Remember 9/11" sticker on any of their vehicles.

And that list should include every idiot that forwarded any or all of the;, "Jane Fonda Traitor", "Denzel Washington, Why is Madonna on the front page?"", "Raise your hand and swear "SO HELP ME GOD" on the Bible", "Write "So help me God" on the back of your envelops", "This is a Christian country" fake history lesson" STUPID EMAILS.

And all you with those ribbons...we're coming for you NEXT.

8. Gays should be furious. Bush thinks them equal only when
recruitment is down. Then he's more than ready to give them equal treatment by sending them off to his wars.

Log Cabin Republicans must be one sick group of masochists.
