Let me explain: A successful president uses the bully pulpit to rally support around his agenda, etc. And no one else in the opposition party can match that. But I believe Chimpy's horrible prime-time speech proved that more and more people are tuning him out. And when that happens, you're in BIG trouble. It's also hard to reverse it once voters start souring on you. That's why I think that U.N. speech will be a flop.

I don't think we're the audience for the UN speech -- it's for foreign consumption. He can't get the boys & girls home in time to a.) salvage the election or b.) clean up after the next LIHOP, unless he gets serious international fig-leafage.

OTOH, if he does speak on sex-slavery -- and I think Ashcroft's using the Patriot act to chase pornographers was a trial baloon -- then the speech is for domestic consumption, and marks a return to the Culture Wars, conceding failure in the War Wars.

Either way, it will tell us a lot about how the Borg plan to fight the election.

What else could be expected from a fraud who opted to deliberately withhold from the American people key facts about Iraq intelligence, in order to win their consent for an unnecessary war?

it was awful! It should have been a major speech and he looked like a scared kid reading from a Podium rather than relaxed and sincere behind a desk with pictures of Laura and a homey atmosphere.

They thought he would look tough standing there....but he looked pitiful and very wan. Sort of like the cartoon pix with the little chimp face and the big ears hiding in a big suit.

Unfortunately he only know how to be a "Swagger to the bar bully....or a frightened cowered, overmedicated kid" So, I guess tomorrow we get the "Bar Swagger." And it won't be appropriate....it will be embarrassing....I don't think he can pull it out or we would have seen more of him over the last two years....

Without his RW folks cheering him on.....he's lost......and the polls have probably really gotten to him....he 's gotta know.
