9. how can you tell

the "Number of Google hits"?

Another question: I had added Downing Street Memo to my page (before the suggestion on here of alerts) does that "count" or should I change it to Alert?

10. In google's advanced search, second box (exact phrase), I

entered the words "downing street memo"

And it took me to the first page of search results and a little way down from the top it reads:

Results 1 - 30 of about 897,000 English pages for "downing street memo" with Safesearch on. (0.38 seconds)

For SOME strange reason, it's down from when I posted earlier (when it was 903,000-- don't know why)

"hits" referred to the number of articles "out there in cyberspace".... not the number of requests for information...

14. for clarification purposes...

Are these aggregate numbers? ie, does the 874,000 on 6/14 include the 575 from 6/9? OR, is the 874,000 the number for 6/14 only, and 6/9's 575,000 was for that day only, etc.?

Also, if it is aggregate, then is the rate of accumulation increasing or decreasing? Ie, is interest in this issue still ballooning or is it in decline?
