Yet another circa40's-style Bush Pic
Is this guy practicing this pose or what?? Every time I see a pic like this, it's downright disturbing. This is heir Shrub at the GOP fundraiser the other night.

1. Sometimes, even photoshop can't work miracles.
Don't post this crap unless you are certain it's authentic.

2. I think it is a Reuters photo...
I saw it on Yahoo... The thing is, as with any still photo, you can get people in the funkiest poses and facial expressions. I don't know why people make such a big deal out of stuff like this unless it is just for the humor component.

4. I hate to say this of a Reuters photo
but upon closer inspection...it does look photoshopped... I am no expert but the pixellation around the arm is just a little off...

6. I am an expert.
It is NOT a Photoshop job. The "pixellation" (sp - pixelation) around the arm is not off -- it's from the photo being taken while he was in motion. :eyes:
(I'm a Multimedia Designer with 11 years experience... Just to let you know.)

22. excuse my spelling mistake...and roll your eyes at someone else
whether you like it or not the pixelation could very well be from an edit as it is very similar to what you would see in a photo that has been 'shopped. There is an area also in the suit that is pixelated where there would not have been the motion that you speak of. While this may not be 'shopped (and I really don't care if it is or isn't because a still photo can capture people is all sorts of stupid poses) you cannot say for certain without the original that it is not 'shoppped...at least I had the courtesty to admit that I didn't know and my statement was conjecture...as is yours, expert.

25. No, it is not conjecture.
:eyes: Riiiight, "Prodigal". Close examination would yield rather or not it was a blur, cloning technique, or otherwise. My opinion is not based upon guesswork, but upon looking closely the picture -- right down to the position of the pixels. The shadows and everything else in the picture are in the correct position. The highlights are also in the correct positions. There have been no filters or cloning techniques used on the photo because there are no identical regions in said photograph. This unique combination of things are alone indicative of the fact that there has been no alteration to the photo. :eyes:

:eyes: Furthermore, I stated quite clearly that the photo was taken while he was in motion. That was not an attempt to debunk it, but simply a statement of fact. It is not conjecture, but a simply matter of photography. After having looked at the photo -- and considering the source -- it is not an image that has been doctored in any way. You can call this conjecture all you want, but considering the fact that part of my job is photo manipulation, I'd say my opinion carries more weight. Lastly, I am sure that if this were a court case I would qualify as an expert witness. Given your lack of knowledge on this issue, I am less sure that you would be called for such. :eyes:

If you don't like that, tough. Stick it in a pipe and smoke it. :evilgrin:

27. riiight...
you and only you are the final arbiter of what is and is not fact. You cannot say with 100% certainty that the photo is not doctored...and if you do, you are being intellectually dishonest.

so insistent on a link? And what's so provocative about it? He's always Sig heiling in photos. Wish I knew how to add pics, there are more than a few.

Don't understand where you are coming from on this.

Another thing -- you have no business telling anyone what "crap" they can and cannot post on a DEMOCRATIC website. Secondly, just to make it clear to you and others of your elk -- it is a real photo.

8. He's not practicing for anything.
The photo was taken while he was in the middle of gesturing.

For all the haters out there attacking the authenticity of this -- the picture is not a Photoshop job. The pixelation (blurriness) around Shrub's arm is from him moving while the photo was being taken.

20. American Family Assoc. says, "these people" want to embarrass Bush

<snip>

But the idea of the president of the United States rubbing elbows with pornographers is shocking to some, including Rev. Don Wildmon, chairman of the American Family Association.

"The reason these people are doing this is for publicity and to embarrass Bush," Wildmon told WND. "I think the Republicans can survive this, but they need to go public with an explanation. They need to exclude them or withdraw the invitation. Just doing nothing is the worst thing they can do."

<snip>

"It would be an honor to meet him," she said. "I'd like to talk to him about issues like freedom of speech and the crackdown on the adult industry. Maybe he can give me some political pointers."

The actress says it's among her dreams eventually to become president, and that's why she's getting involved in politics now.
