2. Does what they find matter? |

I mean. The nutto's don't actually care whether she was a vegtable or not do they? Sure the family was claiming she was in there, and that it was a bad twilight zone episode when everyone thinks you're dead and start doing an autopsy on you while you're still alive.
But the whole argument was sort of a 'right to life' thing wasn't it? That it was wrong to just let her die. If she was in a PVS would it matter to these people that she was just plain gone already?
The whole affair is just tragic and makes me sick. It should never have been given national publicity in the first place. I feel like I've been smeared with icky goo and that I'm a cross between a gossip and a peeping tom every time the subject comes up. Why couldn't these poor people have been given some privacy.

6. You're Right That It Won't Matter |

Because when they announce that her brain was slush, the fundies will just say that God works in mysterious ways and that's why she was able to give speeches and write poetry that were nothing short of oratory masterpieces such as, "Shall You Not/Spunge My Mouth?/I Desire Lime Jello/You Batshit Whack-Job Fundamentalists/Defy the Government Orders/And Ram a Bacon Cheeseburger Down My Throat/God Wants You To"

cerebral cortex, and was hence in a PVS, it will get very little play in the media.
Now, if for some reason the forensic pathologist can somehow determine that she was not in a PVS, THAT will be covered round the clock for weeks to come.

8. Will they talk of anything else until after the press conference? |

There were some issues around the Schiavo case that made it important, although not justifying the media circus it became.
Nevertheless, regardless of how any one felt about the issue, what most people should expect of the autopsy is that the lady was in an irreversible vegetative state and that she starved to death. That conclusion will be anti-climatic.
CNN is again guilty of sensationalism. They are building up to what will almost certainly turn out to be a non-event and expending good air time that could be used to give viewers a better understanding of the impications of the Downing Street document or Bush's Social Security deform proposals. They are not serving the public well.
