A fast food business to support - surprise bonus$ for long term employees!
When in Tucson (hey, Phoenix DUers, are they up there too?) and in need of a quick bite & cool beverage, consider going to Eegees. They just surprised their long term employees with bonuses. Seems they understand they got where they are with the help of dedicated workers who grew with the company. Can you friggin believe it? They shared the fruits with the laborors!

Eegees has a tradition of giving Christmas bonuses, which most places in the area don't seem to do anymore. They decided they were doing well enough to share the wealth and handed out a total of $80,000 in bonus bucks to 21 long term employees. Gee, what a deal, and it didn't make them go belly up to share with the people who helped them build a successful business! Don't ya wish there were more like 'em?

4. What about all of the employees that didn't get bonuses?
They have 20 locations and only 21 employees got bonuses? Those who did get them were the longest term employees who were probably making the most anyway. Once again, those most in need get passed over.

Probably thinking they have been there longer and had more to do with the long term success of the business? Probably showing the new hires that it is a company that recognizes effort and dedication? Probably a way of helping those who made success possible?

Those who just started, well, they haven't had the impact now, have they? I fail to see what is wrong with rewarding long term work and dedication. Most companies today are trying to get out of their legal obligations to long term employees and you are complaining about a company rewarding people where they didn't have to at all? Jeeze, I guess the new hires should become V.P.s right off the bat so they don't get hurt feelings? :eyes:

Christmas bonuses for nearly all employees are a tradition at Eegee's, but the recent longevity bonuses came out of the blue.

from the article it seems this was just a longevity bonus for working 10+ years. My work tends to do close to the same with Christmas bonuses and the longer you've worked the more you get at Christmas.

8. I don't see a problem with the bonuses they gave...
I'm just saying that some people over 10 years got as much as 15K while those who may have worked there for 8 years got nothing. It's great that they are willing to reward long-term employees, but it just feels like they spent 80K on P.R. in the form of employee bonuses to get the good press that comes with it.

So often we talk about how, when a company is doing well, it should share it's profits with the employees, and it's great that this business did, but unfortunately it was only with 21 of it's employees. I don't begrudge the employees the bonuses they got, I just wish some of the $$ trickled down to the "little guy".
