Clark on the issues.... Pretty Liberal
Edited on Mon Sep-22-03 09:39 PM by janekat
Dug this up on the internet...

Sounds pretty liberal to me.
I don't really get why people consider Dean a liberal - while they call Clark a "Republican."

3. Funding Health Care/Cutting Pentagon Budget
General Clark said his domestic priorities would include health insurance and rolling back parts of Mr. Bush's
tax cuts. "I don't see why we can't have health insurance for every single American," he said.

Asked how he would pay for it, General Clark said he was open to some cuts in the budget he is more
familiar with — the Pentagon's. "The armed forces are a want machine," he said. "They are structured to
develop want."

5. Clark seems promising. But I want specifics.
There's a LOT that is very promising about Clark, but he isn't a long time Democrat and he doesn't have a political record.

That doesn't mean that he won't be a great candidate or that he can't be a great president, but it does make me hold him to a higher standard on specifics than I might hold someone with more of a history (even if that history isn't perfect).
